Satan and the Liberals Would Love to See Churches Fall Apart
Dr. Tom Barrett
The opening lines of Charles Dickens’ great novel, A Tale of Two Cities, are: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity.”
That pretty well sums up the situation our nation faces today. In this article I want to focus on the first two phrases in the context of local churches. Some churches will emerge from this storm stronger, so they will look back at this time as a blessing – the “best of times.” Some churches will be weakened, and they will naturally consider these days “the worst of times.” Some churches may even close their doors – forever.
So, pastors, elders, and church leaders: Do you want this emergency to result in a stronger church, a weaker church, or even a “disappeared” church? That’s a rhetorical question. The answer is obvious.
Let’s look at some ways to make that happen. Read more...
Nancy Hasn't - She Continues to Spew Forth Hate
Dr. Tom Barrett
Have you noticed that most people seem to have forgotten about the upcoming election? People that used to talk constantly about politics seem to only care about the epidemic. News media that used to provide wall to wall coverage of Election 2020 now devote most of their energy to the China Virus.

But behind the scenes political forces - both good and evil - are still working hard for their respective agendas. Nancy Pelosi and her henchmen are working overtime to blame Trump for the China Virus. It was bad enough when they informed us that he was responsible for global warming, all hurricanes and earthquakes, global hunger, pollution of our oceans and childhood cancer. That was disheartening. Now we learn that our president, whose first responsibility is to protect us, actually created a deadly virus, sneaked it into a Chinese Bio Warfare Lab, and from there somehow managed to spread it throughout the world, including the US.

Now Pelosi, the face of the Democrat Party has thrust her ugly grimace in front of TV cameras and declared that our president (who has been literally working night and day to combat the China Virus) has deliberately slowed our progress toward a solution. "Trump fiddles while people die!" she cried. Read more...

One of the great things about living in a free society is that we have the freedom to make decision for our own lives and that freedom can extend up to the point that we infringe on the rights of another person in a manner that makes it unavoidable for them. Without trying to turn this into a legal debate my point is this, if a person is making a speech on the corner that is offensive to me, I have the ability to go a different way or leave the area. I have no more of a right to that corner than he does so I can choose to leave.  Read more...

What we often think of as ugly and hideous (a beast) can turn into something beautiful, given time and perspective. And sometimes what we think is beautiful on the outside is a beast on the inside. Most times, what is on the inside will eventually surface on the outside. Easter is an excellent example of seeing the beauty in the beast.  Read more...

It used to be that the most unsafe place to be in America, was a mother’s womb. Today, with COVID-19 rolling across the nation, anywhere in America is becoming equally unsafe.

Or is it? Are we getting a taste of our own medicine?

Now, we see the great energy and total involvement it takes to stop something we don’t want - death. Read more...
Christianity faces persecution and intolerance, but it will prevail because of its defenders and an American president.

The Founding Fathers were quite passionate when it came to religion, and they expressed their thoughts on many occasions. John Adams wrote “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” And Benjamin Rush, “The only foundation for a republic is to be laid in religion. Without this there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of a republican government.”  Read more...

In my study of major disasters in history, the normal reaction of city, state, and national leaders was to dismiss, delay, disparage, deny, and deceive. I am trying to be gracious but many officials lie to cover their incompetence, inadequacies, and inaction. It has happened in all ages, in all societies, in all circumstances.  Read more...

Ever since the Chinese Coronavirus COVID-19 was let loose on the world, countries with high-density population centers seem to have suffered the most. In the U.S., it’s cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, New Orleans, and New York, where people are usually in close contact with others, that are more susceptible to the virus. All indications from those who have contracted this highly contagious virus, some may have very mild symptoms and may be carrying the virus for weeks. Whereas, others come down with strong symptoms and are dealing with a life or death situation, especially those over 60 years of age with underlying health issues.  Read more...

Do I believe that people are sick? Yes.
Do I believe people are dying? Yes.

Do I believe there's a bigger picture? Yes.

Do I believe we as Americans just set the most dangerous precedent concerning our liberty and freedom ever in the history of the world? Yes!

And I am a million times more terrified of that than I could be of any virus. Read more...
