Dominated by Democrats, New York State under the leadership of Governor Andrew Cuomo, recently passed a barbaric abortion bill that allows for an abortion at any time and any reason, all the way to the last day of a woman’s pregnancy.

I have been explaining the complex prophetic warnings of scripture for over a half century now, but nothing prepared me for a question asked of me by an eight-year-old boy sitting in the back of an adult Bible study.

I had been explaining how the Bible warns that as we approach second coming of Christ men would begin to walk headlong and fully cognizant into various stages of moral reprobation. I explained that they would begin, as they do this day, to accept all sorts of reasons to kill the unwanted through abortion, assisted suicide, and euthanasia.

The boy raised his hand and said simply; “Why do people want to kill their own children?” I struggled to find an answer that would not overtake the sensitivity of such a young man. In the end, I had to tell him of a condition that Christ said would prevail just before he returned. No, it wasn’t about wars in various places around the world and nations rising against nations.

It was about a callous and self-indulgent world where only self and today will become all that matters. Christ spoke of it in this way.

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” (Mt 24: 12)

Could it be this simple?

You can rest assured that it is that simple because there is not one shred of love to be found in the murder of children in a mother’s womb.

But now, the ink stains are drying upon the line where the Governor signed a law to the thunderous applause of the reprobate that now allows the murder of children, right up to the last day of a pregnancy.

And the chosen color for this excursion into depravity is - pink! It’s the color of little girls and the fight for life for those suffering from breast cancer. Now it has been hijacked by those who believe in infanticide.

Andrew Cuomo ordered several monuments to be lit pink in celebration of a new law to kill the unwanted. Pictures of the New York World Trade Center lit pink are a disgusting reminder of the depths to which our shameless nation and the once mighty Empire State have fallen.

A monument that once represented the ignominious and untimely death of nearly 3000 Americans and foreigners on 9/11 has been dishonored and now is called upon to represent the deaths of nearly 4000 unborn children per day in this nation.

This dehumanizing and criminal activity may hide under the guise of law and the color pink, but we all know its true color is blood red and cannot be celebrated except in the shame of total darkness for any state that thinks this is anything but the raw glorification of death.

The best journalists and writers who have not abandoned their conscience have stepped up to condemn this travesty of justice. Below is a small sample just from the internet. Some call it irony and others call it a contradiction, but these are insufficient terms to describe what we are asked to endure as a nation. We are bombarded by the rhetoric of Nancy Pelosi to see a wall that would keep out illegals as “immoral” - even as we witness applause and celebration for the murder of unborn children who have every right to be here. It is not irony, it is unbridled hypocrisy.

We don’t expect those who think God has nothing to say about their behaviors to suddenly heed the warnings and change course. But what we can do is to uncover the warnings once again so that they are without excuse.

The late Dr. R. G. Lee said it best – “There is a payday someday.”

Look at the promise again.

“Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.” (Isaiah 26: 19-21)

If the Elizabethan English poses a problem for you, let me say it in no uncertain terms – someday, someone will answer for the death of the innocent. It will not be pleasant, see for yourself.
