We Must Begin To Push Back

May 27, 2019

Why are Republicans and conservatives always on the defensive? We are accused of being racist, homophobic, sexist and anti-LGBT. Mainstream media supports the attacks against Republicans and Conservatives but rarely if ever crirticizes Democrats for their lies. So it is imperative that we inform the public of the real truth by pushing back - now. Below are a few suggestions of how we can do this.

You are a racist!

No, I’m not, I just happen to believe Martin Luther King’s words: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

You are racist. You always talk about “whitey”. How is that not a racial slur? Martin Luther King would not approve.

You are racist. You actively work to reduce the number of high-performing Asians from Harvard simply because they are Asian.

You are racist. You require quotas of minorities in colleges and universities. This does not honor Martin Luther King, who believed the skin color of everyone should be ignored. The focus should be on punishing those who discriminate on color - not setting up a biased process which you have spent decades devising.

You are racist. You assume that all Blacks should or will vote for Liberals and Democrats. When a Black supports a white conservative candidate you call them an Uncle Tom and skewer them in every way. When you focus on a candidate’s color, how is that not racist?

You are racist. To obtain votes of African Americans you encourage dependence of Blacks on the government in the same way as they were much earlier dependent on plantation masters before Lincoln - a Republican -emancipated them.

You are sexist!

No, I’m not, I just believe that men and women are different in appearance and biology and have different strengths and weaknesses. Childbearing women are biologically stronger and live ten years longer than men, while men are more muscular and have greater upper body strength. Having different characteristics does not mean that either should be treated better or worse because of them.

You are a sexist. Your "Me Too" movement has resulted in the asinine idea that in any rape or sexual misconduct allegation the woman must be immediately believed. Even if the allegation is true it, is unfair to men whose lives can be destroyed without any evidence. And it is against the very heart of our Constitution.

You are a sexist. I am a Texan and like many westerners, we respect the strength and courage of our women as we have from the early days of America. Here, while the men were out foraging for food the women were alone with their children in a rough cabin with only a rifle for defense against savage Indians who would torture them. That is courage. These women did not focus on whether they were going to be offended or not. That was the least of their worries.

You are a sexist. I was in college accounting classes with only three girls in a class of thirty. All the men in the class knew that these women were the smartest ones there having been required to overcome the biases of the time. Unlike many college students today they did not worry about being offended. They just overcame, to their immense credit as pioneers. And today there are more women than men graduating from college.

I am not a sexist. It is very difficult to be sexist today anyway as the liberal LGBT community with their practices have made the determination of sex more difficult.

You are homophobic!

No, I am not, I just do not believe America benefits by two percent of the population demanding that the other ninety-eight percent must approve of their personal choices, celebrate them, and give them special rights. Discriminating against them or any other American, of course, is one thing and should never be tolerated, but having millions of Americans being forced to approve of a lifestyle which goes against their faith is another.

The weakness of our form of government is that those of us who value tradition and stability also value being decent in our daily interactions with others. We do not organize mobs and create havoc and destroy property to make a point as those on the Left regularly do. The liberal news media use this often rented violence to make it appear that those inflicting it are the aggrieved party. The measured defensive response to any attack by decent rarely makes the news. So inevitably the average citizen draws the incorrect conclusion - andaccordingly votes incorrectly. We must turn this around. We must begin to push back. Daily!

Vern Wuensche grew up in the tiny farming community of McDade in central Texas. He obtained a BBA and MBA from the University of Texas and holds a CPA certificate. In 1975 he founded what is now Houston’s oldest residential construction company for 42 years. He wrote a book, Overcoming Legal Abuse as an American Entrepreneur, about the difficulty of starting and running a business without a properly functioning legal system. He is an Army veteran. An early marathoner, he ran the length of Galveston Island in the early 1970’s, continuing his distance running regularly all his life. He is a Christian who is serious about his faith. An Elder for twenty years, he has regularly attended Missouri Synod Lutheran churches all his life.

But his passion has always been politics.  As a child, he hung bell-shaped door hangers on doors in McDade for Eisenhower in 1956. And since 1972 he has worked on campaigns of every type, attending 22 Republican state conventions, usually as a delegate. At the same time, he continually studied presidential politics. He ran for President in 2008 and 2012 placing seventh and tenth in the Iowa Caucus and the New Hampshire Primary. Details of the races can be seen at http://www.voteforvern.com  His current long term project is the development of a Republican Farm Team. Anyone considering running as a Republican at any point in the future for any race should begin early, develop name identification and develop relationships with funders before they decide to run.
