Cutting Through The Propaganda
(Newsletter #267 - A Weekly View from the Middle of an Asphalt Jungle)
There were two interesting news stories breaking last week that
have not yet had proper comment in the mainline media.
Six major Congressional sponsors of the campaign finance reform
act filed papers in federal court last week to intervene in the
lawsuits brought by those who consider the law unconstitutional. The
culprits pushing limited political speech for the American people are
Senators John McCain (R-AZ), Russ Feingold (D-Ws), Olympia Snowe
(R-MA), and Jim Jeffords (I-VT). They were joined by Representatives
Chris Shays (R-CN) and Marty Meehan (D-MS).
Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and the National Rifle Association
both brought suites claiming the new law is unconstitutional -- which
it most definitely is. One provision of the new law bans political
parties from collecting "unregulated" money and another prevents most
political advertising by private groups in the weeks prior to an
election.
Generally speaking, the socialists running the Democratic Party
are in favor of this new campaign finance scheme because it would
keep the new crop of conservative citizens’ groups from campaigning
against them. On the other hand, the Republican Party generally
dislikes the scheme because they know the head of steam that is
building among grassroots conservatives and want the help.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) raised
about $105 million in the 2000 campaign cycle. Most of that was soft
money, but never mind because no one made them give a strict
accounting. Showing their dishonor in committing to the campaign
finance law they continuously jawboned about and fought for, the
Committee went out and raised $12 million in the first three months
of this year. It already had $16.5 million in its war chest.
"The DCCC is on a record-setting pace because Democrats are
promoting opportunity and security for working families," said DCCC
Chairwoman Nita Lowey (D-NY).
Sure. "Opportunity and security." But, when one looks at the
campaign financial records, it is seen that much of that money comes
from far left socialist groups. They accept money from union leaders,
even when they know these union bosses are going to prison. They give
"walking around" money to groups who would dismantle fine American
organizations like the Boy Scouts. And the Democratic Party is firmly
in bed with those socialist groups most active in destroying
Christian religions in the United States. Why is it that none of that
is ever related by the major media?
We can, however, take a couple lessons from the socialists in the
Democratic Party. We should, too. Because, it’s time we fight
back.
For instance, if the Constitution is the law of the land, the
Democratic Party and its many degrees of socialists are the legal
equivalent to "The Original Amateur Hour" of the law. If our
Constitution can be said to be good, then the Democrats are the
equivalent of an evil phantom lurking in the night, always ready to
take yet another swipe to continue the evisceration of freedom.
From Roosevelt to Johnson, from Johnson to Clinton, Democrats have
done more to usurp the rights of the American people than any other
group in the world. As we showed last week, the Democratic Party is
actually responsible for instituting 90% of the communist platform
into federal law.
The Democratic Party is intentionally fighting to dismantle what
was once called "The American Way." How much more evidence do people
need that great change is necessary? They espouse socialism, rather
then liberty. All they have is propaganda. But, a certain segment of
our society still buys it.
Don Imus hit the nail on the head on his morning program last
Thursday. The topic was the morons in the media who are still trying
to construct a Clinton legacy. The "I-Man" quipped: "Clinton will be
defined by Joycelyn Elders, Madeleine Albright and Janet Reno."
Imus was, of course, correct. But, we have to add in the rabid
attack dogs like James Carville and Paul Begala. Then, there’s a
string of tarts, the best known of whom is Monica Lewinski. We
shouldn’t forget Larry Flint, either.
Today, we see President Bush fighting terrorism. Clinton, on the
other hand, not only decreased funding for apprehending those foreign
terrorists who would attack us domestically, he gave a Presidential
pardon to a bunch of them who actually did commit acts of terrorism
here.
The immigration problems are Clinton’s fault, too. After all, Bill
Clinton and Janet Reno ran the INS for eight long years. Mismanaged
is the proper term. They were negligent.
As for campaign fund-raising by the Democratic Party, their
illegal activities are legendary. About forty of their major
fund-raisers have already been convicted and more are indicted. If
all were caught and prosecuted, the courts would be clogged for
years.
Illegal campaign fund-raising is a major part of the Clinton
legacy. From dialing for dollars in the White House, receiving
illegal communist Chinese money, trading union bucks, and taking
money so his buddy could sell ICBM technology to the Red Chinese,
Clinton was into it all.
That’s the Clinton legacy: Total and complete corruption.
A revamping of the campaign finance laws is definitely necessary.
But, it hasn’t happen yet. Besides, as with Clinton & company,
the laws we have are usually not enforced anyway.
