Eradicating al Qaeda
(Newsletter #249 - A Weekly View from the Foothills of Appalachia)

Talk about a shifty eyed looking character, did y’all see that Osama bin Laden on TV last week? The face of evil himself. And broadcasters played that evil jerk over an over again. . . .

I don’t suppose it is necessary to call such an evil person a liar. That’s presupposed. But he is. The whole "made for American TV" tape was one endless lie. Turns out, the thing was recorded long before the little war over there started.

Later, Taliban chief, Mullah Mohammad Omarhoncho(1), yet another nutcase, got himself a little face time on American television, too. Turns out that jerk has shrapnel in his brain and spends half of his time having massive seizures. His surrounding clerics say he has "visions." Hallucinations, we call that here. At best, the Afghan leader is schizophrenic. Most probably, he needs to be evaluated for a rubber room.

Then, last Tuesday, Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, bin Laden’s spokesman, all but admitted what our administration has been saying for weeks: They are responsible for the terrorism. Sulaiman Abu Ghaith didn’t appear quite as shifty as his leaders, but he did show that he is just as evil. Among other things, he called for a holy war against U.S. interests everywhere and praised the hijackers who flew planes into the World Trade Center and Pentagon for their "good deed."

"America must know that the storm of airplanes will not stop and there are thousands of young people who look forward to death like the Americans look forward to life," Sulaiman Abu Ghaith said.

Translated for domestic use, that means we should all use hollow point ammunition and pack the hollow point with pork fat. A little drop of wax will seal it in there so it won’t smell as you carry it around. Because, if they want to die, we may have to help them.

"The jihad is today a duty of every Muslim. God says fight for the sake of God and to uphold the name of God. The American interests are everywhere, all over the world," he sputtered.

All this God talk is comical, actually. They are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites. As soon as their terrorists got here they started frequenting stripper bars and picking up hookers. Real Muslims do not do things like that.

He continued: "I direct this message to the entire Islamic nation and I say to them that the parts today have come together against the nation of Islam and Muslims. This is the crusade Bush has promised us. The Islamic nation, for 80 years, has been suffering, the Palestinian people have been living under the Jewish and Zionist occupation and nobody moved to help them. The nation must take up its responsibility and in the end, I thank God for allowing us to start this jihad and ask God to give us victory in the face of America and return them defeated."

Our "war" in Afghanistan is properly directed because, slightly later, the Taliban said they agree with this Sulaiman Abu Ghaith nutcase.

Part of their funding comes from selling us illegal heroin. Afghanistan is the world’s largest producer of the opium poppy, the crop refined into heroin. And, according to the State Department, Afghanistan’s poppy cultivation area has quadrupled since 1990.

Our guys had a few things to say last week, too. The guy with all the big guns, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, told the nation: "We will not stop until the terrorist networks are destroyed. To that end, regimes that harbor terrorists and their training camps should know that they will suffer penalties."

Rumsfeld reported that the regime in power in Kabul has "closely linked itself to the foreigners that are in their country called al Qaeda, who are sponsoring terrorism across the globe. Now, that being the case, it seems to me that it is perfectly reasonable to feel that the only way that the Afghan people are going to be successful in heaving the terrorist network out of their country is to be successful against that portion of Taliban and the Taliban leadership that are so closely linked to the al Qaeda."

Which means, we are going to kill terrorists -- disinfect Afghanistan. Then, we will move over a couple hundred miles and start anew.

Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, bin Laden’s spokesman, said al Qaeda has thousands of terrorists ready to die. Well, we have thousands of military people with guns who need some experience. So, there’s a fit there.
