Orwell was an Optimist
(and related stories)

  1. It was only a single day after the Israeli McCarthyist Attorney General issued his new orders to suppress free speech in Israel. By those new orders, anyone with a bumper sticker that reads "No Arabs, No Terrorist Atrocities," will be arrested on sight for "racism". The following day, the same Attorney General decided NOT to prosecute Talib a-Sana for supporting terrorism. A-Sana is a Knesset Member from one of the small Arab fascist parties. After one of the recent suicide bombings and mass murders, a-Sana praised the attack and called for more like it, in an interview on Abu-Dabai TV. Yesterday the Attorney General decided that this was protected speech and not racism and so a-Sana will not be prosecuted.

  2. More free speech apparently includes the rights of communists to organize petitions of reserve officers who declare they will refuse military orders, and in particular will refuse to serve across the "Green Line" in the West Bank and Gaza Strip because as we all know the only reason soldiers serve there is to suppress po’ Palestinians and not to fight PLO nazi terror.

Not only will none of these be arrested for insubordination and treason. But now the ex-chief of military intelligence Ami Ayalon says that, while he opposes such insubordination, he believes that what Israel needs is MORE soldiers refusing to follow "illegal orders", in other words, MORE military insubordination.

Now it is well known that the Far Left exercises hegemony in Israel over the media, the universities, and the courts. What is less well understood is that much of the military is under the same hegemony, including most of the intelligence community. This is why Israel’s legendary intelligence services sat back on their duffs and supported Peres and Rabin when they decided to turn the heart of the country over to PLO nazi terrorists. This is why they never got around to explaining to the pols why Oslo will never work and why the PLO is merely arming for attacks on the Jews. Ami Ayalon is as good an explanation as any for how Israel managed to place its very existence in jeopardy without the military brass or intelligence issuing a single warning against what the Left was perpetrating. Ami Ayalon should be placed in prison for life for these failures.

  3. The Hizbollah has been firing into Israel regularly, although the media is shushing, lest someone get the idea that Ehud Barak’s version of Dunkirk, when he turned southern Lebanon over to the Hizbollah and betrayed the Christian southern Lebanese, might be viewed as somewhat mega-stupid. Yesterday they fired at Kibbutz Manara near Kiryat Shmona. Israel did . nothing in response.

  4. Well, Oslo has already produced more dead Jews than the Six-Day War, there are bombings and atrocities every week, Israel’s own Arabs are nazified, the economy is crumbling, there are new signs of the Left organizing military officers for insubordination, but the Knesset is as always right on top of things.

The hottest issue in the Knesset this week is an initiative by Knesset Member Yael Dayan from Labor. Yael is the daughter of Moshe Dayan. She is the chief lobbyist in the Knesset for animal rights and for homosexual rights. Years back she blocked the construction of a Voice of America transmission tower in the Negev that would have brought in millions, cause it might have upset a few widdle birdies.

This week Yael Tinkerbell Dayan has proposed that the Knesset debate the sex lives of religious women. You see, surveys show that religious women have better sex lives than secular women, and Yael wants the Knesset to get to the bottom of things, triple entendre. The pseudo-religious party SHAS is upset that the Knesset is being turned into the letters column of Playboy and is protesting.

  5. More free speech! Israel’s Leftist controlled Supreme Court has just ruled that a group of leftist parents of soldiers killed in action, long time practitioners of the Stockholm Syndrome by which they suck up to the murderers of their sons and to terrorists, may fly a PLO flag smack in the center of Rabin Square in Tel Aviv. I suppose in their own way, this action really DOES exemplify the legacy of Rabin.

I am wondering whether the kangaroo trials of the people to be arrested for having politically incorrect bumper stickers will ALSO be held in Rabin Square.
