Where’s The Beef?

PLO Leader Yasser Arafat (AP) PLO Leader Yasser Arafat (AP)
The one thing I have not been able to understand in all of this brouhaha in the Middle East between the Israelis and the Palestinians is the blatant hypocrisy on the part of not only Yasser Arafat (right), but also on the part of much of the rest of the world in condemning the Israelis for their actions against the Palestinian terrorists.

The actions of the Israelis are no different than those of the United States against the Taliban in Afghanistan following the attacks of 9-11. Regardless of what the rest of the world may think, the fact remains that just as the United States has the inherent right to defend itself against its enemies – foreign and domestic, so does Israel – something it has been doing since its inception in 1948, and even before.

The reason Israel has the best soldiers in the world is because it has enemies all around it – people all around it who are bent on seeking to destroy and ensuring all their energies are spent in such a fashion so as to ensure that not only the Jewish state of Israel is destroyed, but that every Jew is either destroyed or driven from the region with sufficient incentive never to return.

Arafat once before renounced terrorism as part and parcel of the Oslo accords when he was nominated for and undeservedly received the Nobel Peace Prize; subsequent concessions made by the Israelis eventually cost Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin his life a little more than a year later. The rapid succession of Israeli Prime Ministers (Peres, Netanyahu, Barak and now Sharon (left)) have only gone to show just how frustrated the Israeli people have become with the forfeiture of land to a liar (Arafat) who never had any intention of honoring his word.

Arafat cannot honor his word because he is a man without honor, dignity or integrity. He is a terrorist, a thief, a thug of the lowest order and a murderer. He orders or gives orders to others to have people – usually young persons to go and blow themselves up in order that they may destroy innocent lives in the process. All of this is done with the illusory promise that it is a one-way ticket to Glory in the presence of Allah. This is a perversion of the teachings of Islam in the worst sense imaginable. The fact that young women are now being used only serves to deepen the revulsion that many right-thinking people are feeling towards Arafat and his lieutenants in their campaign against Israel.

Sharon realizes this, and is perhaps the only Israeli leader with the stones to do something about this wave of butcherous murders that are taking place against his people. Such actions of decisive leadership should be applauded and not condemned by the world community. When Bush sent troops to Afghanistan to go after Taliban troops following 9-11, he had the almost unanimous support of the media, the EU, NATO and even the lackeys at the UN.

United Nations Logo (UN) United Nations Logo (UN)
The hypocrisy towards Israel by the rest of the world, particularly the European Union and especially the United Nations is something to be laughed at. The fact that 66 wannabe member nations signed the “International Criminal Court” Agreement into “reality” is nothing more than a farce, especially since back in 1969, the UN itself forbade itself from making treaties such as this, and that provision has not been overturned. What all this boils down to is a case of impotent little countries to take a shot at the larger, more developed ones.

Under the guise of “war crimes”, “genocide” or whatever charge they can either manufacture or otherwise conjure up, they will seek to bring up citizens or officials of the “have” countries and have them tried by the “have nots”. Clearly a case of what can only be seen as an attempt of forced redistribution of wealth, what we have here is yet another attempt at said same redistribution.

Socialism and communism have clearly failed every time it has been tried. The Soviet Union imploded, as did Eastern Europe from the weight of its own burden. Great Britain reduced its taxes under Margaret Thatcher and kept them down under Tony Blair and their tax rates are now lower than Canada under their village idiot – one Jean Chretien, a petty little man more interested in clinging to power than in serving the needs of his constituents.

So in the end, it is time that the United Nations, the European Union, Canada and even the United States just stay out of the situation with Israel and the Palestinians and just let the Israelis take care of business the way only they can – through the wreaking of complete and total destruction on their enemies. It is the only way Arafat and the other enemies of Israel understand, and it is best to let Israel handle her problems on her own terms.

Each nation has its inherent right to self-defense. For any other nation (or body like the EU, NATO or the jerks at the UN) to say otherwise is unethical and criminally irresponsible.

In short: Butt out and let Israel eliminate their own problems their way. If the United States has the right to defend themselves after 9-11 – which they do, so does Israel any time they face attack.

In other words: Get over it!
