"Beneath the Surface"

First Shrew

Last week, I watched the much-anticipated televised debate between Congressman Rick Lazio (R-NY) and First Lady Hillary Clinton in the hotly contested New York Senate race. I took particular interest in this debate because I am registered to vote in New York State and look forward to casting my ballot.

As I watched the debate, I could not help but notice that Hillary had her script overly prepared and was way too rigid and stiff in her remarks. She wouldn’t deviate from what she planned on saying, and made no effort to either suitably defend or explain herself when confronted by tough questions. She simply wouldn’t allow herself to deviate from her script even though it made her look unprepared and hollow. From the outset, she came across through her canned responses, facial expressions and body language as a complete shrew.

First Shrew One example of this rigidity actually made members of the audience squirm a little. It happened when moderator Tim Russert played the tape of the ’’Today’’ show interview in which the first lady denied her husband had an affair with Monica Lewinsky and blamed a ’’vast right-wing conspiracy’’ for the charges. Here, we see the student learning from the Master. She lied like he does, and she refused to take responsibility as he so often does.

Come on! Give me a break! Hillary knew darn good and well that something was going on between Monica Lewinsky and the President. In an incident at the White House, it was reportedly brought to her attention that Monica and Bill were spending regular time together alone in the Oval Office. Hillary said she knew, and that Bill was ‘counseling’ her. The fact of the matter was that the President was getting orally copped by a young woman just a little older than his own daughter was.

Like New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Hillary is an extremely polarizing figure, whereas Rick Lazio is not. That makes Lazio’s chances of winning the race all the more a possibility and Hillary has to be scared of that. Before Mayor Giuliani dropped out of the race it was a toss-up as both candidates had very high negatives. With Rudy out and Rick in, the change of candidates poses a real threat to her winning the race.

Senator Chuck Schumer, the Democrat who becomes the senior senator from New York after Daniel Patrick Moynihan retires later this year, said recently that ’’on her best day, Hillary can’t get more than 45 percent of the people to say they want to vote for her.’’ To win, he said, she has to find additional voters who are motivated by a dislike for Mr. Lazio."

As for Hillary being roughed up by Tim Russert by the playing of the Today show videotape, the New York Post said, "As tough as New Yorkers pretend we are, we still can’t argue with human nature. Emotionally, it can be tough to watch a lady get bruised. " (Friday September 15, 2000)

That statement would be true if Hillary were a lady. The fact of the matter is that she isn’t – at least not by any acceptable or civilized standard of which I am aware. She has demonstrated through her private behavior that she is capable of being a crude, foul-mouthed snake who can hold her own with any sailor or stevedore I’ve ever known. For all we know, the only reason she may have married Bill was because his white-hot ambition matched hers. Had he not married her, he may have wound up pumping gas at a service station in Hope, Arkansas – alas, we will never know.

The only positive thing Hillary has really accomplished of note is that unlike her husband, she has work experience in the private sector from her work at the Rose Law Firm in Arkansas. Bill Clinton went from Yale to teaching law at the University of Arkansas to the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office to the Governorship of Arkansas to the White House in 1992. And when he leaves office in January at the age of 54, he’ll be the youngest former President since Teddy Roosevelt in 1909.

As for her negatives, there are plenty. First of all, Hillary and Bill tried to hijack the nation’s health care system and make it their own with these ‘alliances’ that in most instances cut doctors out of the loop in making decisions in the best interests of their patients without government approval. Such an action would only put people’s lives at unnecessary risk due to time delays that are inherent with any bureaucracy. Her proposal would have made it a federal crime for a private citizen to go outside the established procedures or to work out alternate arrangements with their family doctor, with substantial fines and ten years of federal prison time to go with it.

Suffice it to say, Congress, the health care industry and most importantly, the American people were in an uproar. They were infuriated that she held these meetings in secret, released no findings other than their massive ‘flow chart’ detailing the creation of a whole new unneeded federal bureaucracy. Americans were more than steamed when she refused to release the other details of their closed-door meetings, and it caught up with them in more ways than one.

In 1994, there was a revolution in America, due in large part to the Shrew and her co-President husband. The Republicans made a net gain of 54 seats in the House - something that was totally unexpected. It blew the minds of not only the Democrats, who were shell-shocked; it even went beyond the wildest dreams of Republicans who had been anticipating some healthy gains. They also scored real big in the Senate and recaptured control of both houses of Congress for the first time in over 40 years, and for that, we can legitimately thank the Shrew.

In addition, a couple of years later, the decision to keep all the meetings about reinventing the health care system secret from the American people came back to bite her on the butt. In 1997, Judge Royce Lamberth of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that the 1994 cover-up as it pertained to Hillary Rodham Clinton was not only done at the "highest levels of government", but that they had pressured the Justice Department into defending their "dishonest" actions. Lamberth stated that this was a case where government officials had "run amok". Again, Hillary had shown her true colors of pursuing her own agenda at the expense of others.

There is another issue that needs to be brought up as it pertains to the Shrew, and that is her claim to New York residence. How can anyone in their right mind consider her candidacy to be either legitimate or plausible, given that her only prior ties to New York may have been shopping trips on Fifth Avenue?

Any sympathy for being the wronged woman as it pertains to Monica Lewinsky and the other assorted women in Bill’s life over the years is long past and gone. With all the concentration on Bill Clinton’s serial adultery, one has to ask themselves what may have been wrong on her end that sent Bill looking elsewhere to satisfy what he considered to be basic human needs. Perhaps if she had shown more attention to Bill or if this was a legitimate marriage of love, affection and trust, Bill may not have strayed; then again, we are talking about Bill Clinton. Let’s face it, the Shrew does not emit feelings of either warmth or empathy. In fact, she seems totally devoid of either character quality or emotion. That is why I consider not only a shrew, but the First Shrew.

It is not only my personal hope and fervent prayer, but it’s also in the best interests of the country and especially New York State that this woman NOT be elected to the United States Senate in November. She is not representative of New Yorkers, and will not effectively represent New York interests, as she is more interested in pursuing a national agenda of self-promotion and self-aggrandizement. It would surprise no one if she were to pursue the White House in her own right from her Senate seat if elected. New York is nothing more than a steppingstone to her return to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. By then, she will have undoubtedly have dumped Billy Boy, he having served her purpose.

What is needed for the good of America and her people is a complete and total repudiation of the Clintons in their entirety, and that can be done several ways: One, we need to put George Bush in the White House; two, retain GOP control of both the House and Senate; three, we need for the Shrew to lose her race in New York; four, we need to see Chelsea go back to Stanford and drop out of the public eye and five, as it has been suggested by Bob Dole, have a SWAT team on standby to remove Bill Clinton from the White House by force on January 20th.

Such action can happen none too soon, as it will expedite the exit of both Slick Willie and the Shrew from the public eye. It can happen none too soon.
