"Beneath the Surface" Sore Losers
Some people just don’t get it. They either want it their way or no way at all. Al Gore did not win the electoral vote, so they went to a manual hand recount after the initial machine recount upheld the totals in favor of Bush. Now that most of the manual recounts in Florida has upheld a Bush victory and the overseas and military absentee ballots have tripled Bush’s lead from 300 votes to over 900, Gore and Company are now pursuing the matter in the courts. In fact, the Florida Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments this morning and will in all likelihood render a decision within 24 to 48 hours. This will then free Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris to announce the final results of the recount, unless Gore takes it to the U.S. Supremes in Washington.
When Harris attempted to announce the final tallies, to include the overseas and military ballots that were due by midnight Friday, Democrats filed a motion with the Florida Supremes to hear the case, and in the process, showed themselves as the sore losers they really are. Al Gore is possessed of such a blind lust for what he knows will be his last shot at the presidency, that he will stop at nothing to move down the hall into the Oval Office that Bill Clinton is scheduled to leave on January 20th. I have doubts that Bill will leave without kicking and screaming, and would not be surprised if he uses this Al Gore-created crisis to retain power longer that he is constitutionally permitted. But that’s another story for another time.
It’s been reported that in the first few days following the election, that ammunition sales shot up 900 percent. That’s right, folks! – 900 percent. I have heard talk circulating that there will be blood in the streets if Gore is allowed to steal the presidency. Not since the Civil War has our nation been so divided with brother against brother, it has also pitted white against black, Jew against Gentile and father against son – and Al Gore does not seem to care in the slightest, as long as he gets the presidency. So much for Gore being a man who brings people together. The fact is, that county by county, Bush won by three times as many counties as Gore did, and with the military ballots being challenged by Democrats and defended by Republicans, as well as a class-action lawsuit pending on behalf of military personnel and their families who are saying they did not get their ballots in time to vote, the popular vote may very well put George W. Bush ahead of Gore, and that is something that Gore and his cronies want to avoid at all costs.
Whatever Al Gore’s strengths may be, he is too closely tied to Bill Clinton’s star in order to serve the needs and interests of the nation with any measure of integrity. From the illegal fundraising in the White House to the Buddhist Temple fundraiser to White House coffees and most notably his “no controlling legal authority” statement, these clearly show that this man, like Bill Clinton, has no moral authority to govern at all. Remember his cheerleading speech on the afternoon of Clinton’s impeachment two years ago? He said that Clinton would go down as one of America’s greatest presidents. I was about to throw up when I heard it! If anything, Clinton is the reason why Ulysses Grant is smiling from his grave now.
Sore losers – that is what Gore/Lieberman and the leaders within the Democratic Party have shown themselves to be, and in the process, have revealed their true colors for what they really are. They cannot accept the rule of law and are determined to undermine the foundations that have held this country together for over 200 years. Should Gore succeed in inheriting the presidency from Clinton, he will definitely be a one-term president. What’s more, the Democrats will be severely disadvantaged in Congress and have their numbers substantially reduced in subsequent elections for quite some time to come. The Republican-controlled House and Senate will take it out on Gore in spades, thus preventing Gore from achieving any level of effectiveness whatsoever. The American people will resent him more than they ever did Richard Nixon during his final days of power when they saw what Nixon had been doing as it pertained to dividing the country. But as for Al Gore: he just doesn’t care.
Sore losers – it just goes to show that some people do not and will not work and play well with others.
