Riley Gaines: An All-American Class Act

Before champion swimmer Riley Gaines began her address to Congress on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, she was pummeled by Democratic Rep. Summer Lee of Pennsylvania. Lee warned the Congress that they were about to hear a full diatribe that could only be described as transphobic and hateful. It was defamatory, disgraceful, and completely uncalled for, but not to worry, Riley had a comeback answer that was to sweep across the national news cycle like a raging tsunami.

Riley Gaines answered Lee by saying, that if her testimony was transphobic, then Summer Lee’s opening remarks should be labeled as “misogynistic.”

That remark floored Rep. Lee and her next move was the call to have the remark removed from the record. It seems the point of order was rescinded, but the cowardice, bias, and rancor will live on in infamy. Rep. Lee did not have a leg to stand on, because the wisdom and obvious meaning of Riley’s remarks could not be overcome.

Where did that mouth and that wisdom come from?

Riley Gaines Barker is a Christian and she has shared her faith and personal testimony with many people.

James Lasher quoting Gaines in charismanews.com said, “ I have always been spiritual, but this past year, I experienced a spiritual awakening. I have witnessed how God moves through people, how He has His hand on me in this situation, in this fight," Barker testified. She emphasized that she has also recognized the opposition, believing it to be a spiritual battle, where moral values clash with evil influences.”

It is because of her solid Christian testimony that most Christians believe that God via his Holy Spirit gave Gaines the words to feed back to Rep. Summer Lee.

To wit:

“But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.” Luke 21:12-15

Is it transphobic to trust the science?

Here is what we know with great certainty. No amount of hormonal suppression or enhancement can change the DNA with which we are born. If you are born as a man or a woman, no amount of tinkering with hormones, dressing up, or cosmetic manipulation will change your DNA.

A lie on a birth certificate, on a name change, or in the imagination cannot change the DNA.

Lia Thomas was not ever a woman, and will never be a woman, in this life or the next.

What else do we know?

CBN says “peer-reviewed studies have confirmed that even with this treatment, athletes with biologically male DNA and physiology still have an unfair advantage when competing against biological women.” 

2022 guidelines indicate that males have between 300 and 1000 nanograms of testosterone per deciliter, and the actual amount varies due to stress, time of day, body weight, and another half-dozen factors. What is also known is that even with the administering of testosterone suppressants, the levels will still be more than twice that of a woman. Sorry Lia, the fact that you matched Riley’s record is not proof that you are a woman or a great athlete, it is only proof that Riley is an All-American athlete, and a class act.
