An Invasion Force; A Threat To America’s Safety And Security

In a recent survey, a majority (65%) of the American people responded that the most important and disturbing issue is no longer the economy and inflation, but illegal immigration. The nation is watching as the southern border is under siege by what could be described as an invasion. Since the Biden administration assumed control, estimates of the migrant influx range from 7 to 10 million, most of whom were released into the country. 

It is only through the courage and tenacity of Texas Governor Greg Abbott that the nation was made aware of the disaster at the border; the biased media until recently has ignored it. The Governor’s busing of migrants has created a dilemma and major burden for sanctuary/city states, causing them to cry foul and ask for help from the Biden administration, which has ignored their pleas.    

Last week I wrote about an alliance of former and active FBI agents and a report they’ve recently issued to the House Judiciary Committee, detailing substandard requirements in the recruitment of new agents. This has caused the undermining of time-tested policies and practices, and the deterioration of expectations of new agents. 

In another missive by the FBI, recently a letter was sent to the House of Representatives and Senate by a coalition of former agents regarding illegal immigration, and the threats and dangers it poses. It is their contention, based on years of active and commendable service that the influx is predominately made up of military-age foreign nationals. The report goes on to say that these individuals, whatever their reasons, would be capable of defying the laws of the land and taking up arms against America.

The former agents warn that the country has “been invaded,” and that “there is a “new and imminent danger. It is our concern about a current, specific threat that may be one of the most pernicious ever to menace the United States.” In the month of December (2023) there were over 302,000 migrant encounters at the southern border, and 2.4 million for the year 2023. The officials were especially on the alert, and their concern intensified after the October 7 attack on Israel. 

The letter states "In its modern history, the U.S. has never suffered an invasion of the homeland and, yet, one is unfolding now," they say. "Military-aged men from across the globe, many from countries or regions not friendly to the United States, are landing in waves on our soil by the thousands - not by splashing ashore from a ship or parachuting from a plane but rather by foot across a border that has been accurately advertised around the world as largely unprotected with ready access granted." 

The letter continues "It is stark to say so, but having a large number of young males now within our borders that could begin attacking gatherings of unarmed citizens, in imitation of 10/7 (Israel, 2023) and at the behest of a foreign terror group, must be considered a distinct possibility. We would be remiss not to call out this potentially grave threat in the most direct terms. The warning lights are blinking."

The agents also point out that the vetting process, including biographical and biometric analysis, is deficient. This is aside from what federal officials have claimed. Also for fiscal 2023, there have been over 800,000 getaways, having evaded the border patrol; a number are on the FBI’s terrorist watch list. Many of this invading force are from countries that can be considered as foes, not with our best interests at heart.

But what I believe is the most frightening entreaty of the letter was this statement: "For these reasons, elements of this recent surge are likely no accident or coincidence. These men are potential operators in what appears to be an accelerated and strategic penetration, a soft invasion, designed to gain internal access to a country that cannot be invaded militarily in order to inflict catastrophic damage if and when enemies deem it necessary."

The drafters of the letter included former officials: FBI assistant directors Kevin Brock and Chris Swecker. Timothy Healy, Director of the Terrorist Screening Center, and Mark Morgan, Customs and Border Protection Commissioner and former FBI superintendent. These former FBI agents and officials have come forward with their concerns and warning. Their actions are a direct reflection on the Biden administration and its border policy, and how it has placed the safety and security of the nation and American people in serious jeopardy, and in harm's way.
