Number One On The FBI’s Most Wanted List

February 19, 2024

The pro-life movement is under assault and is being persecuted for its protests outside abortion facilities. The Biden Administration's Department of Justice through its agency the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has engaged in hostile investigative oversight of pro-life activities. All this attention is paid to pro-life people, whose only crime is working to save the lives of unborn babies in their mothers' wombs. Yet, it has been confirmed that individuals on the FBI terror watch list have entered America at her southern border.

In the past, I have written about Mark Houck, a pro-life activist, whose home was besieged by a cadre of armed FBI agents in the early morning hours, while his wife and five children cowered in fear. Mr. Houck and his young son stood outside an abortion facility and were praying. They were accosted by an individual who shouted obscenities at them while approaching Houck’s son.

Like any protective parent, Houck pushed the individual who fell to the ground. Mr. Houck was arrested, but upon local authorities learning all the facts, the charges were dropped. Within a short period of time, however, the Biden Justice Department intervened and brought federal charges against Mr. Houck. In the early part of 2023, Mr. Houck was acquitted and is now running for Congress.

On February 6 (2024), six of eleven pro-life activists were found guilty of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, the FACE Act. The Justice Department had brought charges against the group in March 2021 for a peaceful protest they engaged in outside a Tennessee abortion facility, where they prayed and sang hymns. Several hours into the protest, several of the protesters were arrested. The activists six could face up to 10 years in prison, and up to $260,000 in fines. The Thomas Moore Society is representing the activists and will be appealing the verdict.

The Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) has determined that the pro-life movement poses a threat to the safety and security of the abortion industry. Since January 2021 they have investigated and prosecuted 24 cases, finding activists guilty of violating the FACE Act. This is a direct assault on a segment of the American people that the government has targeted as extremists. But this stares in the face and is beside the fact that the Biden administration has ignored over 300 incidents of violence directed at churches and pro-life pregnancy centers.

The Family Research Council’s Director of the Center for Human Dignity, Mary Scozh, issued this statement. “As countless little boys and girls are being trafficked across the border, and wars wage across the world, the Biden administration thinks the most important thing to focus on is prosecuting peaceful protestors attempting to save unborn babies from a brutal death.”

The FACE Act was originally designed to protect abortion facilities, places of worship, and pro-life pregnancy centers. The problem is, however, most if not all of the DOJ’s investigative operations are targeted at the pro-life anti-abortion movement. This disparity has revealed that the Biden DOJ acts with extreme bias in its duties and responsibilities to the American people.

In another travesty of justice, two weeks ago a Nashville, Tennessee court found Paul Vaughn, a pro-life activist, guilty on all counts of the FACE Act. Like Mark Houck, Mr. Vaughn was also the subject of an FBI raid on his home, in front of his wife and eleven children, even though on the day of the particular protest, Mr. Vaughn was not blocking access, nor was he arrested at the time.

Congress has taken notice of the disparity. Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah), and Representative Chip Roy (R-Texas) have introduced legislation to repeal the FACE Act. Mentioning how the Biden administration’s bias has created a two-tier justice system, they issued a statement that read “We need to repeal it (the FACE Act) and then stop giving authority to the Department of Justice to be able to go after [pro-life] people.”
