Americans Can’t Survive Like They Used To

Nineteen years ago, Newt Gingrich hit the nail on the head with the following com­ment: “No society can survive and no nation can survive with 12-year-olds having babies, with 15-year-olds killing each other, 17-year-olds dying of aids and 18-year-olds who cannot read their diplomas.”

It is a shame that Congress and our President spend so much time on other issues that do not address these critical points. We are becoming a na­tion of idiots that need to be coddled, assisted and directed to survive. I am truly glad my life started many years ago when pride in your efforts and self-worth were the goals you pursued.
