A Call For Sanity And "Godly Sense" in a Troubled World

May 10, 2021

More and more, I run across people who are totally fed up with so many of the changes in our country and society that seem to be magnified during this pandemic shutdown.

Psychology is having a very difficult time right now, especially when the definitions of "delusion" and a wide variety of delusions are not only being accepted as reality but are even being supported and defended by the political and legal system.

For instance, just because a man thinks he is a woman, everyone else is supposed to participate in his delusion, using the proper pronouns and language for his alternate thinking. By the same token, if someone thinks they are a dog, that does not make them a dog, or a cow or a horse or whatever.

Look up the definition of insanity or mental illness. They (whoever "they" are) don’t want to offend someone who claims to be the opposite sex, but what about offending all the rest of us who know the difference and know that’s not possible? Our lives need to be grounded in reality and truth, or we are in serious trouble - and we are getting to the point where we are in serious trouble!

Insanity: "n. mental illness of such a severe nature that a person cannot distinguish fantasy from reality, cannot conduct her/his affairs due to psychosis, or is subject to uncontrollable impulsive behavior."

Don’t give in to the insanity. As Susan Powter used to say - "STOP THE INSANITY!"

Put your phone down, turn off the radio and TV, especially the “news,” and just look outside, please! Recognize the reality all around us.

Sure, there are bad things happening all the time. But there are many good, even great things going on, too.

We are in a time of such screwed-up reversed morals (calling evil, "good," and good, "evil") that were promised in the Bible about how men without faith would end up thinking.

Some current common assumptions that are almost absolutely wrong:

  • We can trust what we see and hear in the news.
  • Our political representatives have our best interests guiding them.
  • We can trust what our leaders and “the experts” (whether government, scientific, medical, religious, educational, etc.) tell us.

It seems that some people or groups want us all to wrongly think that:

  • politicians and big government are the answer to everything in our country – actually they are usually the problem (h/t to President Ronald Reagan!)
  • the United States was formed as a racist, selfish nation to benefit white people
  • cops are bad – they just want to kill black people
  • white people are bad – they are all racists
  • illegal aliens are good for the country – why weren’t they good for their home countries?
  • anarchy and chaos are an atmosphere where good things happen
  • laws don’t matter
  • guns are the problem that cause murders and violence
  • most people are not smart enough to take care of themselves or get IDs to vote

The word "SUBTERFUGE" seems to be the perfect word for the tactics of the Progressives/Liberals/Democrats!

Definition of subterfuge: "deceit used in order to achieve one's goal."
"an artifice or expedient used to evade a rule, escape a consequence, hide something, etc."
“Keeping everything off-balance, unpredictable, out of whack.”

Somehow enough of us need to stand up for the truth to change our current path.

I have to believe that God has put in all of us, every single one, a basis for seeing and knowing what is reality, what is true, what is right and good and pure. We need to question almost everything these days, and use the senses God gave us to see and understand everything around us.

If you do not practice and exercise the gift of discernment that God gave you, I firmly believe you will lose it, substantially or totally.

This is upheld by some verses in the New Testament found in Romans. The following could currently be seen as hate speech, and in some ways it is. The living God hates sin because He loves us. See what you think.

Romans 1.16-32
16            For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
17            For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "But the righteous man shall live by faith."
18            For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19            because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20            For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
21            For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22            Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23            and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
24            Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them.
25            For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26            For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
27            and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
28            And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,
29            being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,
30            slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
31            without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;
32            and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

12:1-2
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

I will put my faith in the above statement, and not what the news or politicians or talking heads are trying to tell me.

As Paul concluded in the letter to the Romans 16:20:

"The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you."

Wonderful article. I especially enjoyed the final quote from Paul's letter to the Romans. May it be prophetic!
