Biden Wants Social Media to "Snitch" on Americans

Report: Biden Supporters, DNC Want SMS Carriers to Monitor Private Text Messages for Vaccine Lies. The Democratic National Committee says that they are also planning to engage fact-checkers more aggressively and work with SMS carriers to dispel misinformation about vaccines sent over social media and text messages. 

Based on what I read, the Democratic National Committee plans to engage the SMS carriers to identify people who are writing the text messages and emailing negative thoughts about the COVID-19 virus vaccine. On Friday, White House spokeswoman, Jen Psaki said, “Americans who deliver misinformation on social media should be banned from all such platforms." 

Psaki went on to confirm that President Joe Biden wants Big Tech to be more "aggressive" when policing "misinformation." “The White House is in regular touch with social media platforms to handle it." CBS News reported on July 17 the comment of President Biden on social media's role in preventing misinformation when Biden accused social media platforms of "killing people" with the spread of COVID-19 misinformation. Then 3 days later, the president backed away from this comment on Facebook, "Killing People." 

As a supporter of freedom of speech under the first amendment, I abhor the idea that the administration is working with the private sector to identify those who have a legal right to speak their mind and disagree with the administration on the vaccine and shut them down and in addition, ban them from all social media. On Monday, Biden made this statement, "Facebook isn't killing people. These 12 people who are out there giving misinformation - anyone listening to it is getting hurt by it," Mr. Biden was referring to a report that concluded 12 individuals are behind the majority of all COVID-19 misinformation. The report from the Center for Countering Digital Hate had an article titled, "The Disinformation Dozen, Why platforms must act on twelve leading online anti-vaxxers.” The article states that two-thirds of the misinformation on the vaccine from the 12 are doing such a big percentage of the damage, why not just take them off? 

Why would the DNC be trying to influence the SMS carriers if it is just 12 people doing all the dirty work? What resources are the Biden administration using to stop the flow of information? Perhaps the 12 people reference is just smoke covering the government interference, taking away more of people's Freedom of Speech.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn wrote a letter to President Biden slamming his administration's collaboration with Facebook to rid the platform of vaccine "misinformation" and suggesting the work could violate the First Amendment. "These revelations are deeply concerning," the Tennessee Republican wrote in a letter Friday. "The blatant actions by your administration to work with Big Tech companies to censor Americans' free speech are shocking - and arguably a violation of the First Amendment." Many other senators and congressmen are worried that the story of trying to stop misinformation is a cover to spy on Americans to try and find out what the right is trying to do to stop the left’s agenda.

Some of us have experienced the pain of being shut down by a social media site. I am one of those people. I get very nervous when social media that had an overabundance of influence over the news cycle in the previous presidential election is now working within the government to spy on the American people and shut down even more people.

We should be very concerned that big government and big tech are working together, with no oversight, to hear or see what we are saying, and if they don't like what we are saying, they want to stop us.
