Disney’s Woke Attack On A Classic

What a cast of characters, there is Mickey and Minnie, Donald, Daffy, and Goofy, Pinocchio, Peter, and the rest of the residents of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has given generations of Americans memories that last a lifetime. But something has changed; innocence and virtue seem to have vanished from Fantasyland, replaced by modernity with all its vices and pitfalls.

Disney has gone through a radical transformation, from wholesome and family oriented, to an organization that prides itself on its diversity, equity, and inclusivity (DEI). It has affected its thinking and the way it sees the world and its respect for families across the nation. Disneyland in California and Disney World in Orlando have created a climate that for many is anything but welcoming.

Many of Disney’s offerings on the silver screen over the last twenty years have been received with a tepid response. But what they are about to release for the public’s consumption, a remake of an original classic, is a mockery of tradition and a betrayal of its founder Walt Disney’s vision. This shameful new enterprise will take DEI to new heights of the ridiculous and will drive away moviegoers.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released in 1937 and is a remake of the classic Grimm Brothers fairytale. It is one of Disney’s hallmark films and is considered the number one animated film of all time. It tells the heartwarming story of a beautiful princess who escapes the evil clutches of her wicked stepmother the queen, and hopes and sings that “One day my prince will come.”

Most of us know the rest of the story; suffice it to say Snow White ends up in the forest and meets the Seven Dwarfs - Doc, Sleepy, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Bashful, and Sneezy, who give her shelter and protect her. But the princess’ sinister stepmother finds her and manages to cast a spell with a poison apple that places her in a deep sleep. Enter the handsome prince who comes to her rescue, giving her the kiss of life, and they live happily ever after. 

In its simplicity, Snow White is a masterpiece; the story, music, and animation have captured the hearts, minds, and imaginations of children of all ages. That would include our parents and grandparents, who grew up with the cast of unforgettable characters. And why then, you might ask, would any writer, producer, director, and cinematographer want to change or in any way despoil this classic?

Remember, this is today’s Disney, and modern-day “sensibilities” must be upheld. This is not the great institution founded by Walt. It is untraditional, unrestrained, and has no hesitation to change and update in any way, as long as it promotes the DEI agenda. It was not prepared when someone in the company leaked information, and a photo of the cast of characters that will make up a remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, into a regular motion picture. 

Snow White is her name because her skin is as white as snow, her hair black like a raven’s wing with a little red bow, with ruby red lips and deep blue eyes. Her name represents purity and innocence. The actress who will be playing the part, however, is Hispanic and is descriptively not Snow White. With one exception, the Seven Dwarfs have been replaced by what looks like a conga line of misfits straight out of a 1960s Ed Wood B movie. They come in all sizes, genders, and heights, are dressed up in an array of gaudy attire, and are different races, of course. Referring to small people as dwarfs is insulting and politically incorrect, therefore they must go. There will be no “Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it’s off to work we go.”

Many dwarfs have spoken out and pointed the finger of blame at Peter Dinklage for Disney’s politically correct decision to forego the seven dwarfs. Probably the most recognized dwarf actor in the world, in 2022 Dinklage complained to Disney about the original animation and the remake, and the image it projected of the dwarf community. A spokesperson for the community criticized Dinklage for denying dwarf actors an opportunity to work.

This pathetic excuse and embarrassing attempt to remake a classic doesn’t end here. As expected, malcontents have risen up and come forward, using this opportunity to voice their grievances. The Me Too movement has criticized the original Snow White. They accuse the prince of sexual harassment for kissing the Princess without her consent; she was in a deep spell-induced sleep.

With this endeavor, Disney has surrendered its independence and artistic expression and excellence to the woke mob. If it doesn’t come to its senses, this once great and storied institution will fully destroy any remaining credibility it has with the American people. The best thing that could happen is, DEI should DIE.
