The Biden Administration And Its Rogue Department Of Justice

What is the threat posed when a nation’s most powerful law enforcement agency goes rogue and is weaponized by the federal government to do its bidding? What are the people to do when the president they elected, though mentally unstable and physically challenged, governs like a dictator?

Several months ago in a House of Representative committee hearing, Attorney General Garland was questioned about the revelation that the FBI Richmond, Virginia bureau had issued a memo that considered a possible investigation of radical Catholics. Recently the FBI at the insistence of House Republicans released documents titled “radical traditional Catholic ideology.” 

According to the documents, the Biden administration DOJ was in fact targeting Catholics. This move specifically included Catholics who practiced the Latin or Tridentine Mass, pro-life advocates, and pre-Vatican II teaching. The main thrust of the letter however was traditional Catholicism teaching on sex, marriage, abortion, and LGBTQ rights.

This raises the question, which may seem somewhat conspiratorial, did the FBI intentionally forego investigating attacks on over 300 churches and pro-life pregnancy centers by radical leftist abortion groups like Antifa and Ruth’s Choice? These attacks, some violent, began immediately following the Supreme Court’s ruling overturning Roe v. Wade.

For some months now, Catholic Bishops and Republicans condemned this egregious threat to freedom of religion and speech. The FBI began this intrusion into a religious institution based on information that was cited by the Southern Poverty Law Center. This is a far-left radical organization known for its list of conservative groups that it considers extreme. For that matter, any group that SPLC thinks holds beliefs that are antithetical to its own, is placed on their insidious “hate group” list.

The FBI agents were told by their supervisors to investigate any association between “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists and radical-traditional Catholics.” Although the document was retracted, pro-life groups and Republican elected officials demanded an investigation and accountability. This action gave caused the FBI to provide documents this past week to the House of Representatives.  

The documents' release was made available to only the House Judiciary Committee, with a caveat. The FBI requested that they not be made available to any entity, unless the FBI approved it first. The document release came about only after Representative Jim Jordon of Ohio threatened FBI Director Wray with contempt of Congress for alleged violations of the First Amendment. Wray also was criticized by Congress for having ignored two subpoenas.

On July 17, after having reviewed the documents, the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee expressed anger and frustration and issued a press release, stating “The documents sent by the FBI have been either heavily redacted,” or they have willfully not included in the release all the documents. Congressman Jordon in the press release said he believes “additional communications exist,” between the FBI and the Diocese of Richmond, Virginia. "Redacted documents produced to the committee highlight communications between the FBI and the Diocese of Richmond, but the redactions preclude the committee from fully understanding the nature of these interactions.”

The involvement of the DOJ and the FBI in this threatening scenario gave rise to the action of 19 attorneys general to issue a letter condemning the FBI. It read in part “We already knew that President Biden was launching an attack on the First Amendment rights of Americans, as evidenced by the landmark free speech case Missouri v. Biden, but now it’s clear that he’ll weaponize unelected federal bureaucrats to go after any American who doesn’t worship the right way. 

The American people must deal with the Biden administration, his Department of Justice, and a biased media, working in unison to undermine the Constitution and threaten our freedoms. This mendacious activity is often mentioned in the writings of the Founding Fathers. James Madison wrote “The aim of every political Constitution, is or ought to be first to obtain for rulers men who possess most wisdom to discern, and most virtue pursue the common good of society, and in the next place, to take the most effectual precautions for keeping them virtuous whilst they continue to hold the public trust.”
