GOP Will Gladly Take Rush if Dems Will Claim Soros

Bill Clinton set a stellar example for Barack Obama. Neither of them understands the difference between campaigning and governing. But then, they did surround themselves with the same people, didn't they?

Former Clinton advisor Rahm Emanuel, now Obama's chief of staff, is once more cahootinizing with recycled Clinton hacks James Carville and Paul Begala. The trio is up to their old tricks again, running the White House war room as if they never left.

This unholy trinity has decided that the one burning issue on the minds of the American people in this time of economic uncertainty is (drum roll, please) who is the titular head of the Republican Party? They have decided it's Rush Limbaugh.

If only it were true.

Do you think for a second Rush Limbaugh would have nominated John McCain as the party's 2008 standard-bearer? Do you believe Rush would have signed off on the bailout bill George Bush and Henry Paulson cooked up last fall?

Do you think Rush Limbaugh would have let Ted Kennedy write the "No Child Left Behind" education bill, or pushed through the massive Medicare prescription drug program or campaigned for Arlen Specter for re-election?

Rush Limbaugh believes in the U.S. Constitution - including the Second Amendment - and in limited government. He believes in low taxes. He is pro-life. He does not believe that marriage should be redefined to include two men, two women or any other bizarre combination. He believes in defending this country, and in controlling our borders. And he has a firm belief that our rights come from God, not from government.

Anyone taking the time to read the Republican Party platform will quickly discover that these are the very principles advanced within it. It is a platform that has been carefully crafted over many years by grassroots volunteers who start in county conventions, then advance to state conventions, and finally to national conventions, where they spend their own time and money advancing a principled agenda they hope their candidates will champion on their behalf.

Only to see it trashed by the likes of Bob Dole, George Bush or John McCain.

The GOP should be so lucky as to have someone with Rush Limbaugh's ideology and passion running their party.

If the Obama While House wants America to believe that Rush Limbaugh is running the GOP, it seems fair to ask who is pulling the strings at the DNC. A cursory examination of the Democrat's platform tells us a lot. It calls for higher taxes on productive Americans and more welfare for those who don't pay taxes. It supports bigger, more intrusive government and advocates unchecked power over American businesses by Big Labor. It promotes deviant ideas like same-sex marriage and other special rights for homosexuals, and destructive policies such as abortion on demand up to the moment of natural birth. Democrats also favor wide open borders, a shackled Central Intelligence Agency and a gutted military. Does that about cover it? I may have left out a few of the crazy planks in their platform, but those are most of the highlights.

Now ask yourself this question: Who most readily embodies and embraces that agenda? Why, it is none other than George Soros, everyone's favorite paranoid Hungarian billionaire, who uses his vast wealth - gained mostly from speculating on and (some say) manipulation of currency markets around the world - to fund left-wing causes like Air America, Media Matters and MoveOn.org.

Soros is a behind-the-scenes despot. He is an evil man who has used his wealth to further all the causes the Democrat Party holds dear.

He was also a Nazi sympathizer. In his autobiography, entitled "Soros on Soros," he blithely describes how as a teenager he helped cart off the possessions of Hungarian Jews after they were sent to concentration camps. Soros wrote that this never bothered him, even though his father was Jewish and he grew up in a Jewish home. He says he has no regrets for his actions. "Somebody would have done it," he wrote.

Oh yeah, the GOP will take Rush Limbaugh in a heartbeat if the Dems will just claim this guy.
