The Fate Of A Nation, And An Assassin’s Bullet

This is another day that will live in infamy; only this day will be long remembered as a time in American history when the fate of a nation was determined by an assassin’s bullet. It was a defining moment, on July 13, 2024 at approximately 6:15 PM Eastern Time, when former President Donald Trump stood before a roaring crowd at a campaign rally in Butler Pennsylvania. 

Within 10 minutes of the beginning of the former President’s speech, a lone gunman several hundred feet away on the rooftop of a nearby building fired off what would be 8 shots from a long gun. One of those rounds pierced the upper right ear of Mr. Trump, he ducked down below the podium, another bullet ended the life of a rally attendee who shielded his family, and two others were seriously wounded.

The Secret Service rushed the stage and surrounded the former president crouched beneath the podium. With blood streaming down his face, and as he was led off the stage, he turned, faced the rally crowd, and raised his fist in defiance saying ”fight, fight, fight,” the crowd roared. The assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was felled by a law enforcement sniper's bullet and pronounced dead at the scene.

The attempted assassination of the former president should come as no surprise; it was inevitable. Join me; let’s take a stroll down memory lane. In 2017, a plan was put into motion. It was a calculated and concerted effort to diminish Mr. Trump in the eyes of the people, and destroy his reputation and presidency. The players were a rogue’s gallery of the usual suspects among Democrats, the media, the entertainment industry, academia, big business, and the “deep state.” They have since waged a ruthless, hostile, and dehumanizing assault on Mr. Trump. 

The Russian collusion conspiracy, special investigators, impeachments, persecutions, prosecutions, a porn star, biased and rogue attorneys general and district attorneys, lawsuits, hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines, and confiscation of properties, are but a few of the attempts to disassemble the Trump presidency and business organization. Several Democratic states attempted to remove Trump from the ballot by invoking the 14th Amendment, though the Supreme Court struck down the attempt.

The Biden Department of Justice sought to inundate the former president in what are turning out to be fictitious investigations and prosecutions. Their ultimate goal is to interfere with Mr. Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign by initiating 6 cases that are pending against Mr. Trump and his business empire. They are as follows.

* Mar-A –Lago/ Classified Documents (Case recently dismissed)
* January 6/ Capital Riot
* Georgia/ Election Tampering (District Attorney under investigation)  
* New York City/ Hush Money Scheme (Under appeal)
* New York State/ Tax Fraud Suit (Under appeal)
* New York City/ Defamation Case 

During his presidency, Mr. Trump had to contend with a daily barrage of insults, political and personal especially the escalating overtures and tantrums from celebrities that hoped for his demise. Without mentioning any names: a female singer who “Thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”  The comedienne who held a fake severed head, with the likeness of Trump, and a rapper who in his music video executed a “Trump clown doll.”

Whatever your thoughts are on the subject, a former president needlessly almost lost his life. There were lapses in security, and the Congress will investigate. But as far as I’m concerned, it was only a matter of time before this tragic event would occur. It took his enemies 7 years, but they finally almost got what they wanted. Only by the grace of God did former President Trump escape death. But make no mistake; those 8 bullets have the fingerprints of each and every one of his detractors, who over the years fanned the flames of the hate.
