Kamala Harris, Who Was Elected As The First Indian-American U.S. Senator, Has Now Turned Black

August 12, 2024

On July 31st, Donald Trump appeared at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago.  Donald, being Donald Trump, asserted during the event that Harris was "Indian all the way" and suddenly "became a Black person." He also gave credence to those suggesting Harris doesn't deserve to be vice president by saying she "could be" in the job because of a push for diversity, equity, and inclusion. The mostly Black audience was appealed, but was he right?

When Kamala Harris, then the Attorney General of California, won the open US Senate seat, it made her the first Indian-American US Senator.  Kamala, Democrats, and the press fell all over themselves as they proclaimed her as an historic figure! Harris at the time 51, received substantial backing from prominent figures, including Barack Obama and  Joe O'Biden, among other top Democrats. The press and others called her victory  "a significant milestone in U.S. political history as she became the first Indian-American US Senator. When she replaced the retiring Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer, a feeble old white woman, the left could not be happier. Kamala Harris' win not only represented a personal achievement but also signified a broader step towards diversity and representation in the U.S. Senate, and Democrats were ecstatic!

But now as the Vice President and candidate for president, she and her friends on the left have forgotten her past and find it expedient now to call her an African-American. In a day and age when a man can proclaim himself a woman and vice versa, I guess a woman with slightly darker complexion than her opponent Donald Trump can call herself whatever she wants and pander to any group she wants to.

Now that Kamala Harris is seeking black votes, she is self-identifying as a Black woman, a topic that warrants careful consideration and open dialogue. It is questioned if she has any Black ancestry or biological connections to the African-American community. It is essential to recognize and respect the full spectrum of her heritage.

But there is another side of the family tree Kamala wants to forget. According to Wikipedia..."Kamala Harris is of Jamaican descent on her paternal side and of Indian descent on her maternal side. Donald J. Harris wrote in an account of his family ancestry that the Harris name comes from his paternal grandfather Joseph Alexander Harris, a land owner and agricultural produce exporter, and that his paternal grandmother "Miss Chrishy" (née Christiana Brown) was a descendant of Hamilton Brown, a plantation and slave owner."

In a day and age when the left wants to punish anyone whose roots have extended to anyone whose ancestors owned slaves, or were conceived by their slave owners, there is no wonder why Kamala wants to rewrite her familial background.

When Donald Trump was asked if Kamala was a DEI candidate, he should have referred to the criteria Joe Biden set when he picked her to be his vice president. When Biden chose her to be the first female Vice President of the United States, he made it perfectly clear it was because she was of darker skin and was a Woman. At least Joe knew what a woman was at the time. Harris is using the opportunity to embrace and "celebrate" her multifaceted identity, but just leaves out a few details

In such a critical time, when public figures and those running for President want to navigate their identities with authenticity and transparency, ensuring that their self-representations are inclusive and respectful of all aspects of their heritage, shouldn't Kamala be honest with the American people, Black America, and herself?

If Kamala Harris wants to pander to a group that shares her ancestry, maybe she should put a dot on her forehead, instead of pretending to be Hillary Clinton and talking with a black accent.
