Council on American Islamic RelationsBy Bob McCray December 9, 2024![]()
Since its founding in 1994, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has presented itself as a Muslim Civil Rights 501c3 non-profit, taking offense to any anti-Muslim accusations, threats, or bias. Over a few years, it became obvious that there was more to CAIR than just a civil rights organization. CAIR is a political front, much like Sinn Fein was the political wing of the Irish Republican Army during all of the fighting that went on in Northern Ireland. In 2007, as part of a FBI investigation, the U.S. filed an action against the Holy Land Foundations, the largest Muslim fundraising charity in the U.S. CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator along with over 200 other organizations supplying funds to the Islamic Resistance Movement HAMAS terrorists. They put the smiley face on a bunch of radical nut jobs, and the FBI labeled CAIR as “a front group for HAMAS.” The United Arab Emirates designated CAIR in November 2016, as a terrorist organization for their ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. This is the organization that has spawned virtually all the radical Islamic terrorist groups. Last year the head of CAIR, Nihad Awad, praised the 7 October attack on Israel by HAMAS as an act of liberation, “Happy to see’’ Gazans “breaking the siege.” Monday, Judge David Schultz, a U.S. Magistrate, ruled that CAIR must open its books - which will expose all of their donors. This is in response to the defamation case brought initially by CAIR against a former employee Lori Saroya for her comments that CAIR was funded by terrorists. When things started to fall apart, CAIR dropped the suit. Now Lori Saroya has her own defamation case against CAIR, who now must open their books for the process of discovery. Judge David Schultz who ruled “Saroya claims about foreign funding and mismanagement were fair game for investigation.” All of their skeletons are going to be out on display. What has to be questioned is why a political arm that is serving Islamic terrorism is allowed to operate in the United States.
