California State-Run Gas Refineries?

It’s California Dreaming time again, the socialist climate greenies that run the State of California have rolled out another brain-dead idea. They are now looking at taking over the oil refineries that reside in California. Claims of reducing the cost of gasoline are being made, and making sure plenty of gasoline is available for state residents.

It is a stretch to believe that California’s socialist government is suddenly concerned about the availability of gasoline for the residents of California. Go back to the old saying, “Leopards don’t change their spots.” The socialist climate greenies want to shut down gas-burning vehicles and force people out of their cars.

The State of California has mandated there will be no new sales of gasoline-powered internal combustion cars and trucks in the state as of 2035. The control of oil refineries will be used as a bludgeoning hammer to control the people in California and the surrounding states that benefit from the refineries.

How California will go about taking over refineries is unknown, but the state government has made it very expensive and difficult to operate in the state. Presently two refineries are producing bio-fuels, others like Phillips Petroleum are looking at possibly shutting down their refineries. The petroleum company Chevron, which has been in California since the late 1800s, has announced they are shutting down their California refinery and moving to Texas. Either way, no state should be in the refinery business, as it will be in direct competition with commercial companies.

One look at the management skills exhibited by California’s governmental agencies is enough to make you want to run the other way. What gives me the shivers, is when you apply their management abilities to running a state-owned gas refinery. Just think of their celebrated woke efficiencies and the cost of everything - that’s California.
