Fixing The Culture, Part 3 – Hold Democrats AccountableBy Phil Perkins April 7, 2025For far too long, the Democrat Party has had a mostly free ride from their friends in the “mainstream” press, while enjoying the lambasting that Trump and Republicans in general have taken as a matter of course. We’ve all observed how a spoiled child who’s never held accountable for their actions behaves, and it’s usually not pretty. Why should we expect any difference when it’s a political party, even though they are supposedly adults and not children? If there’s anything to regret about Trump’s recent bold actions regarding tariffs, it’s that this allegedly controversial move has given the Dems a fresh bone to chew on with their friends in the media, thus taking the spotlight off their failure to acknowledge their need to change their ways after the 2024 election. That’s a big reason why our side simply cannot let the Dems get away with their go-to mantra about their past failures – “it’s ancient history, let’s move on.” Their failures, especially over the four years of Biden’s disastrous presidency, are far too great to brush into the dustbin just yet. During the next year and a half leading up to the midterm elections, it’s crucial for our side to remember that voters, by and large, have short memories and will need to be reminded constantly about Biden administration failures such as allowing mass illegal immigration over our southern border, the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the inflationary impact of over-the-top federal spending. For the most part, the Dems publicly have not acknowledged that these actions were anywhere near as bad as they really were, and have fallen back on their well-worn playbook when all else fails – that is, if it went wrong, Trump and/or other Republicans must have had something to do with it, such as the Afghanistan withdrawal plan that Biden and his staff were free to change as they saw fit – and probably did so anyway. Would Trump’s plan have included a premature shutdown of Bagram Air Base before the general evacuation was to occur? Doubtful. In the meantime, there is a potential Democrat scandal brewing that would make the worst of Watergate and anything Trump or other Republican presidents did look tame by comparison. That is, what the JFK assassination documents that are being released might tell us, in addition to what is already suspected, about Lyndon Johnson’s alleged role in planning and/or carrying out the assassination. Trump staffer Roger Stone (yes, the one whose home was raided by the FBI in early morning hours and later imprisoned for a time) wrote a well-researched book on this very subject back in 2014, without the benefit of the current document release and what those documents may or may not tell us. Although he could not prove LBJ’s involvement beyond a doubt, the circumstantial evidence is pretty compelling. For instance, Johnson had ties to a trained assassin whom he sprung from prison with his considerable political clout in time to have been on that grassy knoll on the date of the shooting. An important question is whether it can be proven somehow that this alleged hired gun fired the shot that actually killed President Kennedy. Since I’m a connect-the-dots type of guy, I can’t help but look at the bigger picture to see how they connect to support LBJ’s involvement. First, it was known in political circles that Kennedy was planning to dump Johnson as his vice president before the 1964 election. Second, LBJ was as politically ambitious as they come, and no doubt believed it was his destiny to be president someday. Third, Johnson surely suspected, since he and the Kennedys had a shaky relationship at best, that he was going to be dumped and, therefore, his only shot at the presidency was if JFK was out of the way prior to November 1964. Finally, with all of that in mind it would follow that Johnson, who like the Clintons would run over his grandmother if it served his purpose, certainly had the motive and the political will to plot, with others like the CIA who had axes to grind, to kill JFK despite or maybe because of his popularity. Ironically, the scarcely credible Warren Commission report on the JFK assassination, the purpose of which was clearly to pin the assassination on a lone gunman (Lee Harvey Oswald), has failed over these many years to make the issue of who was really behind the evil act go away. Instead, the public’s thirst for the truth in this matter remains strong, and unless and until the real truth is uncovered, the age-old doubts will continue. In terms of accountability, it’s hard for even me to blame the Dems for fervently hoping the worst can never be confirmed. But let us hope and pray that it can.
