The War Against Christianity Intensifies

Christianity is under attack, worldwide. Incidents of violence, property destruction, and death in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America, have reached epidemic proportions. It has been proven, and the investigation continues in Congress, of the Biden administration’s efforts to undermine and castigate Christianity, in particular the Catholic Church. It has just been revealed that the Department of Justice’s interest and investigation of the Church was more extensive than originally thought.

In President Trump’s trip to the United Kingdom, which I wrote about last week, he was outspoken in his opinion regarding immigration in the UK. Although it was not mentioned at the time, it is certain the president was aware of the impact unrestricted immigration has had on the UK. Since it opened up its border, over 5 million have entered and taken up residency, and most are from the Middle East and Muslim. 

In some areas of the UK, Muslims have established enclaves, and there is reason to believe, practice Sharia law. There are a number of European nations that have to deal with unchecked immigration, predominantly Muslim. There are reports of rape gangs in Germany and Sweden, and there have been attacks against religious institutions. France, in particular, has been dealing with a rash of attacks on Christianity.

The Observatory of Intolerance and Discrimination (OID) Against Christians in Europe recently issued its annual report that tracks and records anti-Christian incidents across Europe. In the last half-century, the Muslim population in France has grown precipitously. Today it is estimated that over six million Muslims live in France, and like the UK, have established enclaves, into which areas police do not go. This is the largest Muslim population in Western Europe in terms of size and percentage of the national population.

This increase and rapid expansion in the Muslim population has been the cause of tremendous conflict with the native born French people. There have been attacks on churches and cemeteries, and violence against French Catholics, mostly by radical Islamists. The OID report notes an open hostility toward European Catholics by Islamists and secularists, to the extent that French Catholics are under siege in their own nation.

In 2023, the OID report and the French Ministry of the Interior recorded 900 to 1000 hate crimes against Christians, with a majority directed at churches and cemeteries, while 87 were against French citizens. No information is available at this time for 2024-2025, but according to anecdotal evidence, there is reason to believe the hate crimes committed against French Catholics by radical Islamists will only get worse.

According to the OID, there have been numerous attacks on Christians, I’ve selected several of the most recent  for your review.

> November 15, 2023: Unidentified vandals broke into the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in the city of Rouen and caused severe damage to the church. They destroyed the altar, smashed a statue, did severe damage to the sanctuary, and stole sacred vessels from the church.

> March 11, 2024: Vandals defaced more than 50 graves, the church door, and a World War I memorial in Clermont d’Excideuil with Islamist and Arabic slogans such as “Submit to Islam,” “Isa will break the cross,” and “France is already Allah’s.”

> July 15, 2024: Muslim vandals broke into the Notre-Dame-du-Travail Church in Paris. They burned papers and plunged a knife into the throat of a statue of the Virgin Mary. In addition, anti-Christian and pro-Islam messages were written throughout the church. Some of the messages compared the Catholic Church to Satan and a "whore of religion." Another said, "Submit yourselves to Allah, infidels."

> March 10, 2025: Notre Dame des Flots in Brittany was vandalized twice in two weeks: candles were smashed, liturgical books were torn, pews were overturned, and vases were broken.

> April 18, 2025: As Catholics were preparing to observe Good Friday, priests in two different churches were assaulted, and in one case, Mass was interrupted.

> May 10, 2025: A Catholic priest in Avignon was surrounded, insulted, and threatened by a mob of young men shouting “Allahu Akbar” after evening Mass. The priest has condemned the incident as a brazen act of anti-Christian intimidation.

As stated previously, Christianity is under attack worldwide. In Africa, there have been mass killings of Christians slaughtered by Islamists. Uganda, Nigeria, Congo, sub-Sahara, have witnessed scores of attacks. There were 40 church worshipers killed by an Islamic State affiliate in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, according to the UN and the military. Nine were children.

In this past June and July, the Christian village of Benue State in Northern Nigeria, 218 people were slaughtered, and 6000 were displaced. Fulani militant-Islamists are suspected to be behind all six of the attacks, which targeted men, women, and children. Businesses were looted and set on fire.

What makes this dangerous and malicious violence even more egregious is how often you have not heard of these attacks on Christians. The media rarely, if ever, reports on what is a war on the Christian faith. Aside from President Trump, who has spoken out, have you heard any other politician even mention it? 

Keep in mind, during the Biden administration, Catholic Churches and pro-life pregnancy centers were defaced and firebombed. In America, Radical Islamists in particular, progressive Left secularists, the media, and yes, the Democratic Party, are active in their war against religion.
