Who Can You Trust?By Paul Hayden March 2, 2026As we go through each day, trust is a fickle factor. Just saying that reminds me of Laugh-In, a TV show by Dan Rowan and Dick Martin, that first aired in 1968, running for six seasons, around 140 episodes. They had a little prize they gave out called the Flying Fickle Finger Of Fate, first awarded in the opening episode of Season 2, to well-deserving political or social personalities who they thought deserved some negative recognition. It was a quite irreverant show, with some tongue-in-cheek and sultry humor, slapstick comedy, and fast-moving poking of fun at just about everything. So who do you trust? Better question, perhaps, is who can you trust? To be honest, the Scripture says we can't even trust ourselves, even though that is often a modern humanistic answer for those who do not believe in trusting the deep revelation of truth found in the Bible and biblical faith. Can you really trust yourself? And really, that is what you must lean on, because sometimes, YOU are all that you have! We are admonished in the Bible to be found trustworthy - worthy of being trusted. But trusting ourselves…can get a little shaky. After all, we know ourselves… Somehow, we can learn to trust God. He has given us our life in the first place. We wouldn't be here without Him. Jesus knew God His Father better than anyone, as He came to share His love with the world, to reveal the heart of the Father in every way possible. We learn of God's ways through the life and teachings of Jesus, and by living in touch with the Spirit of God who was promised to be with us until the end of the age. God cares for each of us, and is always wooing us to get to know and love Him as well. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4.8 Blessings to everyone!

Paul Hayden is a Christian believer, and an American patriot, necessarily in that order. He is a student of the Bible, and is avidly interested in our role in the context of history, as understood through the heart and eyes of faith. Paul has lived and traveled somewhat widely, and now lives in the heartland of the U.S. (central Illinois), with his wife Donna - they have five grown children. Since December of 2016, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of www.ConservativeTruth.org."I was raised by a Christian minister, Kenneth Hayden, until his death when I was 10. Then my mom Bonnalee Hunt Hayden married a farmer. So I was raised in a very down-to-earth home. My faith has grown through the years, but both in conjunction with the institutional church and through small groups and individuals, including books as well as group settings, where deep, sincere faith is shared that aligns with Biblical truth."
