The “Red-Green” Alliance - Why It MattersBy Phil Perkins April 13, 2026Throughout human history, strange alliances have been formed by groups or nations who were brought together by a common cause. This has often been described in relationship terms as, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend,” meaning that two or more disparate groups or nations would put their differences aside in the interest of defeating a common and even more hated foe. A clear, recent example of such an alliance was the United States and the Soviet Union joining forces to defeat Adolf Hitler and his Nazi allies in World War II, even though our values and forms of government couldn’t have been more different. In looking at our present situation, there are some alliances between groups in this country and internationally that, on the surface, seem to make no sense at all. For instance, how is it that those aligned with the LGBTQ cause protest along with antisemitic, pro-Palestinian groups against U.S. policy toward Israel? As my podcast friend Jesse Kelly would say to the LGBTQ protesters, “You do realize that the Palestinians and their Islamic allies would kill you for your beliefs and practices, don’t you?” To which their true believers (as opposed to the clueless sign-carrying mercenaries) would respond, “We don’t care. Stopping Trump overrides all of that.” Doesn’t it strike you as odd that for late-night comedians, mainstream media, and Hollywood, any criticism of Islam is off limits? Sure, there’s a fear factor built into that posture that few of them will acknowledge. But more than that, there is also a common goal that pro-Marxists in Western nations and Islamists have: the destruction of Western civilization as we’ve known it. For that galvanizing purpose, they’re willing to put aside whatever differences they have in outlook, at least for now. The same can be said for other far-left groups besides the LGBTQ crowd: radical environmentalists, radical feminists, teacher unions, Black Lives Matter, and so on. Each of these groups strives to change America as we know it to a distant memory, in favor of what they see as a coming socialist utopia. Each group unswervingly supports Democrat candidates in our country (with the possible exception of Senator Fetterman) as the vehicle to achieve their goal. However, this myopic future is predicated on their Islamist brethren agreeing to the pro-Marxists’ goal, when the Islamists’ is quite different. The Red-Green Alliance has been discussed by Glenn Beck and other conservative pundits in referring to the pro-Marxist groups (Red) joining with the forces of Islam (Green) to achieve their common goal of destroying Western civilization. The roots of this alliance stem from the early 20th-century when Bolsheviks tried to influence parts of Iran to communize. The Soviets supported the return of Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979 to establish an Islamic Republic there. It is thanks to Western civilization that we and our allies have the democratic (small “d”) form of government, providing citizens with freedoms and rights that were unimaginable in medieval times. As Ronald Reagan so astutely observed, our freedoms are always just a generation away from extinction, unless we as a nation do the work and sacrifice that’s needed to maintain them. Clearly, our grasp on freedom, along with our European allies, has been slipping in recent years. The hatred of all things Trump by the Red-Green alliance stems not just from Trump the man, but from his unacceptable support of Western traditions. Therefore, Trump’s MAGA movement has been trashed by the left as a cult-like group of white, intolerant racists, and MAGA is a four-letter word to them. Using Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals playbook, the left has done everything in its power to discredit and destroy MAGA and, by extension, all Trump supporters. However, what the Reds fail to see is where their Green allies want to take us: to an Islamic caliphate in which all people either convert to Islam or face torture and death. That’s hardly a socialist utopia as the Reds envision it. In the end, the vast differences between the Red coalition and their Green “allies” will supplant their tenuous alliance, and they will betray one another in their quest for world domination. As an aside, I’m well aware that New York’s Marxist-Islamist Mayor Mamdani may be a real-life example of one who eventually betrays himself, the embodiment of a progressive’s head “exploding” from cognitive dissonance. Assuredly, other groups on the left will inevitably clash once they find out they no longer align on how to reach their overarching mutually antagonistic goals. And, as we hope for the return soon of Jesus Christ, we can confidently predict in the meantime that the plans of men without God will ultimately fail, including this one.
