Why Fauci’s Arrogance And Lies Are Only Symptoms

Talk about polarizing figures. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the “King” of the COVID-19 response during 2020-21, is right up there with President Trump in this category. The question is, why? Why did Democrats put this man on a pedestal for which he was certainly unworthy? And despite the massive recent hits to his credibility, why do they continue to struggle mightily to keep him there? Let’s see.

First off, when the left scream “disinformation” about a conservative-leaning expert’s challenge of the prevailing wisdom on a subject, you can be sure that they are reacting out of fear that the disinformation they pump out to the public daily is being seen for what it is. Nowhere was this tendency more evident than during the pandemic.

Second, if one really believes that Fauci did not deliberately lie to us about where the COVID virus originated and that his flip-flopping on masks and shutdowns were understandable in the ever-changing circumstances, fine. At the very least, he was guilty of frequent dissembling, dodging, and weaving away from having any accountability for his pronouncements that may have proved wrong.

Third, there are a slew of half-truths and utter lies about the pandemic that Fauci and his cronies in the Dem Party and the media (but I repeat myself) propagated without batting an eye. Some are obvious, others not talked about nearly enough. To wit:

• We will never know for sure what the true death toll was from the COVID virus. This is because, in the name of getting more money from the government, hospitals and other end-of-life facilities reported every death that included a COVID diagnosis as a COVID death, regardless of the real primary cause. This is a big deal when the figure of at least one million deaths in the U.S. from COVID is thrown around without a caveat for this very real irregularity. In fact, this matter gets to the heart of wondering just how serious the virus really was for most of the population, and that perhaps the draconian measures taken were not so necessary after all (see Florida for evidence of that).
• The efficacy (or lack) of the COVID vaccines developed under President Trump’s direction in Operation Warp Speed. We certainly were not told the truth about how well the vaccine worked to “stop the spread” or even prevent one from getting the virus. And the Democrats’ abrupt about-face on this was a major tell about what mattered most to them – the chance to use the vaccine as an instrument of power to control the population. Why else would they turn from “I won’t be getting Trump’s vaccine” to “everyone must get the vaccine” once Biden was installed as president? What changed besides presidencies? The vaccine surely did not. If we needed a real-life example of the direction the “Democratic” Socialists want to take us, this one is classic.
• Although drugs such as ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine seemed to show some promise initially in treating COVID symptoms, later tests and results showed they were marginally effective at best. However, what was striking about the drug controversy was Fauci’s and his Democrat friends’ near-hysterical shutdown of the mere suggestion that these drugs (or others) could work in alleviating symptoms and thus reduce the impact of the disease across the board. Any doctor who did not toe the line that vaccines were the only way to go risked being ostracized and professionally discredited. When I asked a doctor friend during a golf match what his opinion of the vaccines was, he parroted the company line that the vaccines worked and everyone should get them. It was disheartening to hear this from someone who otherwise seemed to have a mind of his own, especially when some negative impacts of the vaccines were already being identified.

That Fauci told untruths during COVID, never admitted he was wrong about anything, and shamelessly invoked the Fifth Amendment in recent Congressional testimony, are clear indicators that he knew he was hiding a lot from the public that would not have reflected favorably on him. His diaries – a weird mishmash of private, personal thoughts along with professional notes that we the public were owed as taxpayers - illuminate some negatives that we suspected all along. However, we should be equally or even more concerned about the prevailing culture that allows such behavior to go unchecked and unpunished. Suffice it to say, we should not count on ever seeing Anthony Fauci in prison garb for what he’s done. He probably won’t even lose a dime of his generous government pension, computed on a salary that exceeded the president’s.
