School Assignment That Miffs A Grandfather

May 20, 2013

On May 2, my granddaughter was given a White House impact paper written by their propagandist and presented as fact for a homework assignment. This paper is subjective in its content. The White House asserts the president’s budget is balanced even though no Democrat voted for it. Further, it improperly blames the Republicans for not compromising enough to pass his misguided agenda. Had the paper been presented as an opinion rather than fact, I would not be upset about it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

However, a teacher cannot present his opinion under the guise of fact. Where is the objectivity? Where is the education vs. outright indoctrination? This is wrong and should be stopped.
