The Interview: Obama Dances Around O’Reilly – Stumbles Over LincolnFebruary 10, 2014The pre-game interview missed the mark so badly that it was hard to tell if it was not actually just another droll press conference with Jay Carney. O’Reilly had his ducks all in a row with well-chosen questions which Obama simply ignored for the most part. When Obama did take aim and fire his big guns, it was not O’Reilly’s ducks he was shooting at, but he fired his volleys at O’Reilly and Fox, blaming them both for attacking his administration and all the wonderful things it was offering the new ‘fundamentally changing’ America. O’Reillys famous statement about how, when all is said and done, his interview with Barack Obama before the Super Bowl will come down to ‘one alpha versus another alpha’ may be true, but O’Reilly didn’t anticipate what kind of an alpha Barack Obama is exactly. In their own areas of expertise respectively, they may be alphas, but that is the problem. O’Reilly is a conservative newsman and supporter of good causes, but the President is a typical politician with the ability to bury issues in endless vague rhetoric and flowery language. Obama has now had five years of practice in his chosen field and obviously has gotten much better. O’Reilly is an alpha at getting to the point; Obama is an alpha at avoiding the point. It was a classic example of the un-stoppable object meeting the immovable object, the result is cancellation. The ideologue met the pragmatist, both in full battle array only to produce a draw which sent the expectant onlookers home with nothing. Perhaps a lot more would have been accomplished if O’Reilly wasn’t always in a perpetual popularity contest and Obama wasn’t always in a perpetual propaganda campaign. Rather than two alphas meeting eye to eye, maybe it was two super egos meeting face to face? O’Reilly seems a bit humbled in the follow ups while Obama has sunken a great deal in trustworthiness and he had very little to start with. We can safely assume that after the President publically asserted that the clear definition of homosexuality as an abominable sin, put forth in the scriptures ((Romans 1: 1f) was an ‘obscure’ passage and not to be taken too seriously, that he probably totally missed this one – to wit: “Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified? Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?” (Job 11: 2-3) The president, now well known for his ability to lie in the face of facts, presents a mystery to the average American. It seems we may need at least a bachelor’s degree or better to handle the question of whether he is an inveterate liar or the sort of person who actually believes what he says, facts notwithstanding. It will take more than a simple Rorschach test to get through to the psyche of this president, but maybe it isn’t about the president alone, it is about the pathology of all flaming liberals. Incongruity, hypocrisy and flying against all reasonability are more of an ideological problem than a psychological one. Example: When O’Reilly read the email from one of his viewers asking Obama why he would want to fundamentally change America when it had given him (the president) so much, he all but denied he ever said it! Where was O’Reilly’s – oh really? Bill inserted a quick, "but those are your words," and then moved on to the next subject. Was it a time constraint, or O’Reilly’s unwillingness to raise the temperature during the interview, we may never know. Here’s what we do know. On October 30, 2008 in a campaign rally in Columbia, Missouri, Barack Obama spoke these words loud and clear to the entire nation. “After decades of broken politics in Washington, and eight years of failed policies from George W. Bush, and 21 months of a campaign that's taken us from the rocky coast of Maine to the sunshine of California, we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” – Barack Obama A nation enamored with celebrities and the entertainment industry may have been well primed to elect a pop-culture figure for a president, but time and reality will not be denied. As Obama’s rhetoric starts to crash against the rocky shores of his record, the American people are bound to take notice. The president danced around O’Reilly’s questions like a ballerina in a match with a Sumo wrestler. But it doesn’t end there because Mr. Obama still has to contend with Abraham Lincoln. It won’t be O’Reilly’s best that reveals the obfuscations of Barack Obama, but it will be the wisdom of the Prophet President that will be his undoing. Don’t just read it again – but read it with Barack Obama in mind. “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.” – Abraham Lincoln
