The Stunning Ignorance

September 15, 2014

During the presidential debate on Oct. 22, 2012, Gov. Romney answered a question and stated that the biggest threats to peace for America and the Western world are Iran, Russia and Mr. Putin. President Barack Obama proceeded to demean and ridicule Gov. Romney by joking that we are no longer in the Cold War-era, saying that Russia is our friend not our foe.

What this debate exchange clearly shows is the ignorance that President Obama has on not only foreign affairs but the handling of the presidency. Russia has been arming our enemies for decades and finally somebody called them out. Putin stated to the world on Aug. 30, 2014 “I want to remind you that Russia is one of the most powerful nuclear nations. This is a reality, not just words,” in referring to sanctions and world criticism on Russia for their hand in the Ukrainian crises.

As an ostrich can do, President Obama proceeds to hide his head in a hole at a golf course, looking for a little ball. It is sobering to watch the most powerful man in the world humiliated on a global scale time and time again.

I am Obama hopeful, yet by example, I am Obama doubtful.
