Trump Wins on Immigration Again!

February 3, 2020

The Senate impeachment has basically sucked all the air out of the room. It’s all anyone political, like us, is talking about.

But despite the impeachment circus, it seems Trump just continues the winning. And by Trump, I really mean America, the American citizen, the rule of law and the Constitution.

Boom – winning!! (h/t: Charlie Sheen).

CNBC reports (no doubt begrudgingly) that the president has won yet another court battle regarding immigration.

“The Supreme Court said Monday that it will allow the Trump administration’s ‘public charge’ rule to take effect after the immigration policy had been blocked by lower courts,” writes CNBC.

“The 5-4 vote was divided along partisan lines, with the court’s four Democratic appointees indicating that they would not have allowed the policy to be enforced.”

I know it’s true about the court, but it still infuriates me, as it should any constitutionalist. The court isn’t supposed to be partisan. They’re not members of a team. Its only job is to determine the constitutionality of laws. That is not a partisan undertaking. But sadly, as we all know, it has devolved into a team sport, save for one lone voice. Justice Thomas is the only seated originalist constitutionalist. Sad but true.

However, with four more years, President Trump will likely get at least one more nominee to the supreme court. And if this is the case, he will change the trajectory of the nation for possibly decades to come. If for no other reason, I will vote for Trump again.

 So what’s this all about?

“The rule, which was proposed in August, will make it more difficult for immigrants to obtain permanent residency, or green cards, if they have used or are likely to use public benefits like food stamps and Medicaid.”

Of course lower courts blocked the Trump initiative. But immigrants have always had to be relatively self-sufficient. They were never supposed to be afforded public benefits. But over the decades, the system has been bastardized by the social justice crowd, to the point where even illegals get benefits and we’re all just supposed to accept it. Oh, and pay for it.

But as predictable as the sunrise: “This decision will hurt immigrant communities,” Javier Valdes, the co-executive director of Make the Road New York, one of the groups challenging the regulations, said in a statement. “The Trump administration’s public charge rules attack our loved ones and neighbors by imposing a racist wealth test on the immigration system.”

How is the “public charge” rule, which applies to every single immigrant of every race imagined, regardless of where they’re from, somehow racist. That’s right. It’s racist because the leftist bomb-throwers say it is.

How is it Trump’s or anyone’s fault that the majority of immigrants just happen to be “people of color” from crap-hole countries (yeah – I said it) who come here for the free stuff.

Regardless – it’s another big victory for the nation. And all thanks to a president that won’t give up when things don’t go his way initially.

He sure has made a believer of me.
