COVID-19: What It Has Taught Us and Done To Us

The people must guard against government overreach and, if necessary, defy any decrees they deem a threat.

May 25, 2020

Edmond Burke said “People crushed by laws, have no hope but to evade power. If the laws are their enemies, they will be enemies to the laws; and those who have most to hope and nothing to lose will always be dangerous.”

The events of the past several months have transformed America. It seems the Coronavirus has had a tremendous impact, affecting not only the physical well-being and mortality of her people, but also their mental and emotional state of mind and stability, and of course, there’s the economy.

Out of fear and uncertainty to the threat the virus poses, many have succumbed to the Big Brother syndrome, and seem to have been conditioned. They think their safety and very lives depend on what their leaders and the experts tell them. To an extent the caution, advice, and regulations should be expected and accepted, but the adults of the population must resist total dependence on the government.

There have been a number of small business owners that have defied the ruling power and opened up their businesses. The government has responded with arrests and/or fines, or both. These defiant souls have been accused mainly by the establishment Left-wing in the media and Democrats as having little regard for human life. Keep in mind - these people who judge brave Americans are the same hypocrites who support unrestricted abortion, whose victims I believe are also human.

Part of the scenario we seem to be going through is how we have been inundated daily with terminology explaining the virus, not newly thought of and just added to the language lexicon, but words and phrases currently in use nonstop. When this is all over, hopefully soon, most of us will have a good deal of knowledge of viruses, and the terminologies associated with them.

How many times over the last several months have you heard mention made of; Coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic, China, Wuhan, wet market, bat soup, face mask, social distancing, stay at home, ventilators, Fauci, Birx, testing, outbreaks, CDC, quarantine, lockdown, conspiracy theory, spike, spread, gatherings, infection, tracking, indicators, timeline, death, Lysol, bleach, vaccines, models, sanitizers, stimulus, and lest we forget, Hydroxychloroquine. There are others, but I won’t bore you any further. But what I will do is add one other new introduction to what hopefully will be a short-lived proponent of government overreach and insanity.

Central Park in New York City is 850 acres of pristine public accommodation. It has been designated as a national landmark and is composed of tree-lined paths, numerous species of foliage and birds. There are a man-made lake and boat dock, an ice skating rink, and zoo; it is a refuge and haven for the weary and hard-pressed city dweller seeking comfort in the arms of Mother Nature.

The park was where the Reverend Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse established a field hospital to care for Coronavirus victims. It was recently revealed that the geniuses who govern the city, in particular the mayor, are considering what they will call Social Distancing Ambassadors. Yes, you read that right.

It will be the job of the SDA to walk the paths of the park, and if or when confronted by what he or she might consider an abuse of the social distancing protocols, he or she will approach the rule breakers and explain that they are in violation. Should these outlaws decide to ignore the warning; the SDA will report them to law enforcement stationed in the park.

After learning of this ridiculous harebrained scheme, I began to wonder if the city will send these brave SDA warriors into battle without the proper defensive gear. I am thinking a bullhorn, mace, a BB gun, and some sort of garb that will identify the snitch. I guess a hunter's hat, you know the one with flaps, running shoes for a quick getaway from an angry mob, and a vest with SDA across the front on one side and on the other a patch with the image of the Disney character Goofy.

Alright, that’s about enough of this comical analysis. Seriously, this inanity, which rhymes with insanity, is the result of elected officials, mainly Democrats, who when given certain extended powers will assume dictator-like behavior and become as dangerous as the enemy, and a threat to the people and their right to live in liberty and freedom.
