From Revelation to David Wilkerson - Current Events Catching Up to Prophecy

On Sunday evening May 31, 2020, over 30 cities in the United States were being burned, looted, and broken to pieces by crowds of angry protestors and thieves.

The protests began after George Floyd was killed by a Minneapolis police officer. This was the spark that has now caught on and left cities burning and standing in a pile of rubble. National monuments and symbols have been defaced and thousands of arrests have been made.

Those who deal with prophecy, eschatology, and Biblical warnings are not pleased with these events, but they are not surprised by them.

David Wilkerson’s Warning

Very few students of prophecy have not heard of David Wilkerson. When David was making his predictions, many thought he was outlandish and out of bounds. Today most of what Wilkerson said would happen has already passed into our national reality.

It was not until last night that one particular prediction came fully into view. One of the most oft read articles this writer ever produced has now come full circle among readers, now it is a reality. Let’s see.

In this article, Wilkerson gives fair warning.

“In the article 'Famed pastor predicts imminent catastrophe' posted March 8, 2009, Wilkerson says his vision of fires raging in New York and other places are the beginnings of judgments on the nation. Wilkerson said 'It will
engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires - such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago,' he explains. 'There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting - including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"'"

We need not panic about Covid-19 destroying the modern world, but it has served as a warning and for those with eyes to see it, it has revealed a formula for other disasters like economic collapse and the insertion of deep intrusions into everyone’s privacy and the possible rise on many political despots and dictators. Let’s see.

Up to now, it has been hard for even the prophecy students to imagine how the world may flow flawlessly into a new world order. The COVID-19 pandemic has given us a model or a formula with the greatest possibility of making that happen. In that article, we read the following.
How Lawlessness Easily Brings about the Worst Lawmaker the World will Ever Know

Oddly it is the lack of law that brings about the worst laws in the history of mankind. The man who changes the present laws and brings in the most destructive law, changes everything just to suit his own whims. The Bible calls him the antichrist, but that is only one of his names. He is also called the man of lawlessness. Let’s see.

It is the absurdity of such a possibility that keeps most of the “woke” of our world from seeing a thing about the lawlessness that will produce the great law of destruction.

“The ultimate master of lawlessness and anarchy in the last days is called the 'man of lawlessness.' (2 Thess 2: 3 NAS) The height of perversion will have been reached and surpassed because he will actually be ruling the world from one end of the globe to the other. (Rev 13: 7) Here is where the incongruity reaches critical mass. How can a lawless individual propose, legislate, or enforce any laws if he is 'lawless?'”

The kinds of laws that are loosened, changed, or disregarded are all those that have to do with our personal behavior and matters of choice. We are now accustomed to abortion on a worldwide scale (150 million to date) and nationally (50 million) and now it is no longer considered a hot button topic but is often covered with a simple; “It’s the law of the land.” I’m not sure where the word originated, but someone of late has referred to abortion clinics as “abortuaries,” a term that should invoke national shame.

To those charged with prophecy even their own prophecies don’t make sense at the time – here’s mine.

Prophets of old were told of the coming Messiah many hundreds of years before he arrived. Often prophecies require a long wait until fulfillment – we might say that is why they are labeled prophecies.

In the late seventies, this writer was burdened with a message about the American economic collapse. The nation was bustling at the time and the housing and stock markets were bursting.

What a time to bring in such a message. Let’s see.

Although the message came over 40 years ago, it was not published until 2008. This is part of what was said.

“In the mid-seventies, I heard a four-part message that at the time seemed impossible. It was prior to the economic boom of the eighties when home values were skyrocketing and the stock market was reaching to the stars. The message was in English and said 'Michael you are a prophet' then came the words, 'you will speak to the American people,' followed by, 'This is the message you will speak, Ov-Ov Penury;' the final word was 'not many will come out.'"

"All of my ideas of becoming a humble teacher in the public schools went south along with my secondary hope that I might want to became a gospel missionary in some foreign land. The message made no sense to me, not only because America wasn't experiencing shortages of almost anything but also because I hadn't a clue what "Ov" meant. The word penury wasn't even in my vocabulary and I had to look it up.”

“Wickedness” – A word not even political correctness can ever completely bury

We often quote the call to repentance to those who disregard the moral decline of our nation.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2Ch 7:14)

It seems to have done little good to prick the conscience of the nation. Some say it only speaks to those who already know God and not the atheists and agnostics.

It cannot refer to just believers because of a single phrase trapped within this passage. Note - “turn from their wicked ways” – God’s people are not wicked, so where does this term fit exactly?

This is not rocket science – it is obvious.

Here is our national wickedness.

Abortion – 60 million-plus.

Perversion – homosexuality, transgenderism, and a potpourri of other deviant behaviors.

Secularism – teaching our youth that the world is a godless fully-matured secular wonder that cannot be cheated by the falsehood of faith in God and the foolishness religion.

Extreme and obsessive behaviors – the hot pursuit of entertainment, sports, self-indulgence, and frivolity.

Wickedness is exactly what we have sunken to and it is what we need to repent of, getting back to “normal” and having a great economy are not as important as we think.

If the nation is doing what’s right – all these things will fall right in to place. Let’s see.

If our economy was only half as important as our morality I would retire and never write another word. As it is it seems I will be casting these warnings out again very often.
