We Will Not Bow Down

January 11, 2021

Exodus 20:4 "You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God..."

Daniel 3:1-28

Nebuchadnezzar’s Gold Statue
1 King Nebuchadnezzar sent word to assemble…governors, advisers, treasurers, judges…and all the rulers of the provinces to attend the dedication of the statue King Nebuchadnezzar had set up…A herald loudly proclaimed, “People of every nation and language, you are commanded: 5 When you hear the sound of the horn, flute…drum, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. 6 But whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire.”

The Furnace Of Blazing Fire
8 Some Chaldeans took this occasion to come forward and maliciously accuse the Jews…There are some Jews you have appointed to manage the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who refuse to bow. Then in a furious rage Nebuchadnezzar gave orders to bring in Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego...But if you don’t worship it, you will immediately be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire - and who is the god who can rescue you from my power?” 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to the king, “Nebuchadnezzar, we don’t need to give you an answer to this question. 17 If the God we serve exists, then He can rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He can rescue us from the power of you, the king. 18 But even if He does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.”19 Then...Nebuchadnezzar gave orders to heat the furnace seven times more than was customary...23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego fell, bound, into the furnace of blazing fire.

Delivered From The Fire
24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in alarm. He said to his advisers, “Didn’t we throw three men, bound, into the fire?”...He exclaimed, “Look! I see four men, not tied, walking around in the fire unharmed; and the fourth looks like a son of the gods…27 When the…governors, treasurers, judges, and the king’s advisers gathered around, they saw that the fire had no effect on the bodies of these men: not a hair of their heads was singed, their robes were unaffected, and there was no smell of fire on them. 28 Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed, “Praise to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego!...They violated the king’s command and risked their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.” (1)

The comparison to today’s political climate is (or should be) obvious.

Just as Nebuchadnezzar’s image demonstrates the rebellion of Nebuchadnezzar against the God of Heaven, so too, the DNC believes they have built an image to themselves in defiance to God. They will loudly proclaim that all bow down to the idol they have made; them!

And like the Chaldeans who ratted out the three who would not bow, there are accusers in the nation who think it is their duty to find anyone who disagrees with them and the “progressive, socialist” agenda. They will take to the media to “blow the whistle” on the dissenters. They will attempt to demonize and defame all who differ even in the slightest.

The next four years will be spent in part building a furnace and turning the heat up “seven times” higher than it already is. No matter.

There is no furnace hot enough to force those of us to bow who have been born and raised on the freedom which our nation’s founding fathers risked all to establish. There is no fire fierce enough to consume the God of Heaven within those of us who bow to Him alone.

We the people of the United States of America do solemnly swear: WE WILL NOT BOW!

Nebuchadnezzar was seeking to unify together the peoples, nations, and languages within his kingdom. As if he were God. Bad idea in the end for Nebuchadnezzar.

To Nancy, Chuckie, Adam, Bernie, Steny, those who secretly fund you, et al., and your 90 ft. egos, here is food for thought. Maybe you should; “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time.” (1 Peter 5:6)

Here is a truth which obviously never occurred to Nebuchadnezzar, or Nancy, Chuckie, Adam, Bernie, Steny, et al.;

“If we are devoted to humbling ourselves, God will devote Himself to lifting us up. If we are devoted to exalting ourselves, He will be devoted to humbling us. The choice is ours. If we try to do His job, then He will do our job.” (2)

It is not a hard choice if one is in their right mind. But when the combination of ignorance and arrogance have been mixed together in the mind of those who demand all others bow to them, even the most obvious choice is hidden from the oblivious.

“Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right.

"This nation was founded on one principle above all else: The requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world - 'No, YOU move.'” (3)

Each must decide for himself or herself alone what is right and what is wrong, which course is patriotic and which isn’t. You cannot shirk this and be a man, to decide it against your convictions is to be an unqualified and inexcusable traitor. It is traitorous both against yourself and your country. (4)
