The United States Needs Divine InterventionBy Jim Collins December 20, 2021With the Christmas holiday approaching this week, the United States needs more of Jesus. Let me explain. The word “Christmas” is made up of two words: “Christ” and “Mas.” “Mas” is a Spanish word that means “more” and “Christ” refers to Jesus. So we could say (in a roundabout way) that Christmas means “More of Jesus!” The reason the United States needs more of Jesus is because Jesus was both fully God and fully human. No other religious leader claimed to be both fully God and fully human. Jesus said in John 10:30, “I and My Father are one,” and then He said in John 14:9, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” This was the reason the religious leaders of His day wanted to put Him to death; namely, because He made Himself equal with God and because He called God His Father. The reason no other religious leader can qualify as God is because no other religious leader could pay the price to remove the sin nature of the human race except God Himself. The reason God had to redeem the human race from sin is because the human race became separated from God in the Garden of Eden due to Adam and Eve’s disobedience. In the book of Genesis, the Bible paints a picture of perfect fellowship between God and the human race, but sin ruined that beautiful relationship. As a result, all of humanity inherited a sinful nature of spiritual death, which resulted in separation from God. God then took full responsibility for Adam and Eve’s sin when He came to the earth Himself as a human being. But because God is a Spirit, He had to put on a physical body because the earth is a physical place. The name of God in a physical body is Jesus Christ. The birth of Jesus was supernatural because Jesus had to be born without the sin nature that the human race inherited. That is why Jesus had to experience a virgin birth with the Holy Spirit as His Father. (This is confirmed in Matthew 1:18 and 20, and in Luke 1:35.) Through Christ’s death and resurrection, God and the human race have been reunited. The previously broken relationship has been restored, and fellowship with God is once again possible through Jesus Christ. Jesus made a way for the human race to once again communicate with God. Every person is an eternal spirit who will live forever. The question is whether they will live forever in the presence of God or live forever separated from God. The answer to that question is up to each individual. Each person must decide for themselves whether or not to receive the gift God sent to the earth; His Son Jesus Christ, and the resulting eternal life found in Him. The reason Jesus was qualified to make such a challenging statement, “No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6) is because He came from the spiritual realm into the physical realm in order to make it possible for every person to be born again, and one day go from the physical realm into the spiritual realm – to one day go into the presence of God for all of eternity. Your existence has two parts: a physical part and a spiritual part. There is a physical aspect to your existence and there is a spiritual aspect to your existence. There is a physical aspect to your life and there is a spiritual aspect to your life. When you ignore the spiritual part, like the federal government of the United States is attempting to do, you are only half alive. The solution to this dilemma is more of Jesus. Many evangelical Christians will agree that the only thing that can save the United States of America is Jesus. Jesus is God, and that’s why the United States needs divine intervention. Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus! Merry Christmas!
