The Long Knives Are Out For Former President Trump, Again

December 12, 2022

Former President Trump’s detractors are now joined by his once supporters in an all-out effort to cancel him.

Like rats deserting a sinking ship, as they swim to safety and distant shores, concentrating on moving forward, they ignore and are oblivious - perhaps willfully ignorant - to what they leave behind, and that is the ship is still afloat. The naysayers and malcontents rats, according to some, will soon discover that no matter what they say or do, they will not prevail.

Over the last several months many of those who were once Trump supporters, both in and out of his administration, have abandoned the former president. They have been voicing their objections and frustrations and “All the baggage he brings with him,” and in some cases, they accuse that Mr. Trump is considered a threat to democracy. The former president has been under siege for the last six years by his detractors among Democrats and in the media, and now once supporters and Republicans have jumped on the bandwagon.

Their legion increases daily, both Republicans and Democrats, and includes governors both in and out of office, Senators, House Representatives, and the media. They have all banded together to trash, accuse, and in the case of Republicans, advise the former president that he is in effect jeopardizing any potential victory in the 2024 presidential election and that he remove himself from contention.

Many of these turncoats, especially the Republicans, and particularly those who are considering running for president are careful. Before their rhetorical condemnations, and to protect their own standing with Mr. Trump’s still solid base of support, they will usually add the caveat that the former president was an excellent leader, that his policies were successful, and that he did a tremendous job while in office, but it is now time to move forward, for a new generation to take the reins of government.

The thinking among these backstabbers is that since the inception of the Biden administration, it has become a certainty that Democrats present a clear and present danger to the safety and security of America and her people. It is therefore vital that Republicans do all in their power to prove that Democrats are incapable of leading this nation, and must not be given any opportunity to hold political power and win the presidency in 2024, and Mr. Trump cannot be part of this endeavor.

What came as both a surprise and disappointment, was recently when the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, both Trump supporters, published editorials that were highly critical of the former president and asked that he reconsider his run for the presidency, and just leave the stage and allow for others that are more pleasant and agreeable to the voter, to pursue the quest for leader of the free world. Both the WSJ and NYP have published numerous articles by former Trump supporters, decrying his brash attitude and negative impact on the midterm election, especially on those he endorsed.  However, his record of endorsements was pretty effective, and wins far outweighed losses.

What can we take from this turn of events? Some might say post-modern America is on a road to perdition, and becoming a moral and cultural wasteland, if not already there. One of the entities that have contributed to this devolution are Democrats, and in particular the media. The economy, inflation, cities besieged with crime, the southern border, human smugglers, fentanyl deaths, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, fear of nuclear Armageddon, threats of China and Iran, and an administration out of its depth, are a few things that are facing the American people. And what has the media been reporting on for the last couple of weeks? Dinner at Mar-a-Lago.

Two weeks ago former President Trump was dining alone in his club at Mar-a-Lago. Without any previous invitation, the rapper Kanye West a/k/a Ye appeared with two other uninvited quests. The former president greeted West, a friend, but had no familiarity with the others. Apparently, the three are considered anti-Semites and Holocaust deniers. The outrage by the usual suspects throughout the media was only exacerbated by the Trump turncoats. According to reports this meeting was a setup by West and his cohorts to embarrass Mr. Trump, and cause this ridiculous weeks-long adventure into another attempt to denigrate him; it seems West is also considering running for president - no joke.

As I stated previously, former President Trump has been under tremendous attack and pressure during the 2016 campaign, which continued throughout his term in office. The assault continues; there is in fact a concerted effort now to destroy Mr. Trump, politically, personally, and financially by a mob of vindictive, hate-filled, power-hungry fools.

To add to this malicious and hostile barrage of accusations and fabrications; there are currently four lawsuits brought against Mr. Trump, his family, and his business enterprise. He and many others have described these, and I concur, as witch hunts by radical left-wing bureaucrats among District Attorneys and Attorneys Generals, at the behest of the Biden administration and the Department of Justice. They believe after years of attempts to take the former president down without success, this will be a day of reckoning. I say they will fail again, and the good ship S.S. Trump will sail on to new horizons, for its crew will not desert their captain like rats.
