The Wonder of ChristmasSanta Claus is coming to town.By Bob McCray December 19, 2022![]() I think everyone who has childhood memories of Christmas mornings can remember some of the wonder and amazement they saw as a young child. When you’re older and have a family, you can see it again. When you see that moment in the eyes of your children and even later in your grandchildren. It’s the moment, all of the anticipation, the sparkling lights, and the wonder comes together all at once and can be seen in a child’s wide eyes. Then the fun starts, in trying to keep the kids from opening everyone else’s presents in a frenzy of flying wrapping paper, cookies, and other goodies. This is such a special time of the year; unfortunately, there are many who have to spend Christmas away from home. Especially for those in the military, it can be a rough time. They will miss birthdays and holidays, this is some of the many sacrifices that are made by those who serve. Please, keep those serving in your thoughts and prayers. There is one very important aspect that gets glossed over or totally ignored during the glitz and glitter of the Christmas season. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ and the beginning of Christianity. Without the Judeo-Christianity principles we value and live by, the United States as the Founding Fathers created it would probably not exist. As we approach Christmas day, remember to keep the Christ in Christmas and teach the wide-eyed children the real meaning of Christmas.
