The Miracle of Christmas - God's LoveBy Paul Hayden December 19, 2022At the heart of the Christmas holy-day is the miracle of God touching the lives of people. Jesus was born to a young Jewish woman, Mary, in Bethlehem in Israel. He was more than a special baby, so much more. God sent His Son Jesus, not to condemn the world, but to show people His love. God loves this world so intensely. He wanted to show men how deeply He wanted to be involved with His creation, and especially with the people who were “made in His image,” as explained in the beginning of the Bible. Being Spirit, God relates through and by Spirit, able to touch the spirit that He has placed in each of us. We cannot see or measure spirit, but we can function with our spirits. We can feel the effects of God’s Spirit if we pay attention. The spirit in each of us must be awakened or “born again” when we respond to God’s Spirit touching our lives with the truth of His love. Our spirits are what make us truly “alive.” Because “God is spirit,” those who worship Him are called to worship Him “in spirit and truth.” God loves us more than we can ever fully know. I deeply believe that, as do many others now and throughout history. God makes His love known to us through His creation, through direct revelation, and through the love of others touching our lives. True love is spirit! The Bible tells us that God is love, and God is Spirit. Celebrate Christmas with joy as you consider God’s love for you. If you are not sure of God’s love for you, consider asking God to show you His love. Ask sincerely and honestly, and I really believe God will not disappoint you. “Seek and you will find.” Discover new depths of life in knowing more of God’s love. It can be at the very heart of life for you, helping make sense and giving purpose for everything in your life. God’s love is what life is all about. Blessings and Merry Christmas!

My faith has grown through the years, but both in conjunction with the institutional church and through small groups and individuals, including books as well as group settings, where deep, sincere faith is shared that aligns with Biblical truth."
