You Are America - We Are America, People

State of the Union: “The government will…" Blah, blah, blah!

Here is something I recently came across that makes a lot of sense to me. See what you think.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND GOVERNMENT POLICIES

  1. The larger government grows, the more corrupt it becomes.
  2. The easier a law is to pass, the harder it is to rescind.
  3. Any law that claims to protect rights that already exist will actually diminish those rights.
  4. All new laws passed "for the common good" are actually for the empowerment and enrichment of politicians.
  5. Laws enacted to help one group always harm everyone else.
  6. All good things the government says happened thanks to regulation of commerce happened for other reasons.
  7. Any development in science or industry that the government claims to have planned was going to happen anyway.
  8. When politicians call industries or executives greedy, it means the politicians want a bigger piece of the action.
  9. Citizens who oppose new legislation are always portrayed as villains.
  10. Governments do not grant freedoms; they only take them away.

All of this might help in understanding something like the pathetic SOTU address by Joe O'Biden.

Unfortunately, this short list doesn't say much about the governmental absolute misuse of money or the national debt. The government has no money, except what it took from the people. The government doesn't make money, in the sense of earning it. It makes money by simply printing it. It grabs the money of those who work for it and earn it.

We need term limits, and a total, absolute criminal investigation of every aspect of our government. These will likely not happen because the ones who make the rules/laws are the ones who would be restricted and censured and penalized. Servants of the people. Working for the people. Representatives of the people. So many of these founding concepts of the United States are fading or gone.

One natural law concerning human beings is the law of unintended consequences. For being as intelligent as we make ourselves out to be, sometimes you have to wonder if Darwin's Theory isn't going to wipe us all out.

But I don't think God is done with us yet. Keep your eyes open for the rectifying consequences to be revealed. The god of this world, evil personified, is not the God of Love who created everything. The one, true living God works in the hearts of those who love and serve Him. And God is faithful. Truth and freedom will prevail.

No matter who is president or king or supreme ruler - Jesus is still Lord!

He is a student of the Bible, and is avidly interested in our role in the context of history, as understood through the heart and eyes of faith. Paul has lived and traveled somewhat widely, and now lives in the heartland of the U.S. (central Illinois), with his wife Donna - they have five grown children. Since December of 2016, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of www.ConservativeTruth.org.

"I was raised by a Christian minister, Kenneth Hayden, until his death when I was 10. Then my mom married a farmer. So I was raised in a very down-to-earth home. My faith has grown through the years, but both in conjunction with the institutional church and through small groups and individuals, including books as well as group settings, where deep, sincere faith is shared that aligns with Biblical truth."
