US Consumers Fund Communist DictatorFebruary 6, 2006MARK- CAPTION UNDER PHOTO: Sheehan & Chavez - Birds of a Feather Conservative and religious groups are calling for a boycott of Venezuela-owned Citgo gasoline stations, because Venezuela's dictator has called for the destruction of the United States. Not surprisingly, "progressive" and Democrat groups are encouraging US consumers to BUYcott Citgo, in order to (as they put it) "...help fuel a democratic revolution in Venezuela." Most Americans think Citgo is an American company. Not! Citgo is solely owned by Venezuela's state-owned oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela. And Petroleos de Venezuela is totally controlled by Venezuela's strong man dictator, Hugo Chavez. Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the United States. Chavez, who fancies himself a talk show host, recently told a Venezuelan TV audience: "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century." His guest (see photo on www.ConservativeTruth.org) was Cindy Sheehan, a traitor who has found her vocation of bashing the US and attempting to demoralize our troops. Chavez recently had another US traitor, Harry Belafonte, as the guest on his show (I think it's called "Socialist Workers of the World Unite Against Imperialist Aggression by Capitalist Pigs" or some such snappy title). Belafonte recently called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world." Good old Harry is obviously an expert on terrorism; he hangs with socialists, "progressives", liberals and other supporters of terrorism. Cindy Sheehan, Chavez' newest bestest buddy, echoed Belafonte. "I agree with him. George Bush is responsible for killing tens of thousands of innocent people." Chavez is pushing for a full-scale Communist revolution in Latin America. One of his closest allies is Jesse Jackson's hero, Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. Chavez also had close relations with Saddam Hussein before that brutal dictator's sudden departure from the seat of power in Iraq. With friends like Castro and Saddam, it is no wonder that the psychotic Chavez has delusions that he can topple the United States. What really gets me is that many of the darlings of the Democrat Party, such as Bill Moyers, Ralph Nader, and Bruce Friedrich of PETA are all on record as supporting Citgo and its Communist owner. (See the LINK below, "Communists Urge Americans to Support Citgo;" also, "Democrats.com Supports 'BUYcott' of Citgo.") It boggles the mind to think that members of the Party of John F. Kennedy (who so courageously faced down Castro during the Cuban Missile Crisis) should be fawning over a brutal dictator whose stated goal is the end of the US. A website (see LINK below, "About Common Dreams) endorsed by Moyers, Nader and other Socialists states, "Instead of using government to help the rich and the corporate, as Bush does, Chavez is using the resources and oil revenue of his government to help the poor in Venezuela." But then the site goes on to admit that, "A country with so much oil wealth shouldn't have 60 percent of its people living in poverty, earning less than $2 per day." Which is it, guys? You can't have it both ways. Is Chavez using our oil money to help poor Venezuelans, or is he keeping it for himself? Since most of his countrymen make less than $2 a day, the answer is pretty obvious. By the way, the boycott being pushed by the American Family Association (see LINK below) is working). A source at the Citgo's Houston headquarters admitted that Citgo has received more than 37,000 e-mails from people pledging not to buy gasoline at the company's service stations. Let's make that a million emails this weekend. Go to the SEND AN EMAIL link below. For even more fun, send a personal email addressed to Dictator Hugo Chavez (he prefers the title "President", but I don't care) at venezuela@venezuela.gov.ve. As I close, let me quote Chavez himself (all of these quotes can be found at the LINKS below): "The planet's most serious danger is the government of the United States...The people of the United States are being governed by a killer, a genocidal murderer and a madman." Chavez has stated that Venezuela, which is the world's fifth-largest oil exporter, will also seek to build up its defenses by purchasing arms from other countries. He recently purchased 100,000 Russian AK-47s, and Chavez said he wants to buy enough weaponry to put 1 million men and women under arms in the case of an U.S. attack. Besides more rifles, Venezuela will also buy rocket launchers, he said. "We are in contact with countries where the U.S. can't do a thing,'' said Chavez. "If the government of the U.S. wants to break relations with Venezuela, and they take the decision, it would cost me nothing to order the closure of the refineries we have in the U.S.,'' Chavez said. "Then we will see where (the price of) oil will go, or a gallon of gasoline. It would cost me nothing to sell oil to other countries in the world." If Chavez tries to close down the Citgo refineries in the US, we should do the same as so many Latin American dictators have done to US interests in the past. We should nationalize their refineries. We should never have allowed a Communist to gain control of a major US company that could so heavily affect our economy. Having made that mistake, we should not compound it by allowing Chavez to cripple our economy. I very seldom do this, but I want to encourage all of you to forward this article to anyone you know who drives a car. No one who loves freedom and hates the brutality of Communism should buy gas at Citgo. Ask yourself this question: Why should U.S. consumers help finance a dictator who has vowed to destroy our country? The answer is obvious. We should not. Sales at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him fulfill his vow. We are financing his Communist government. BOYCOTT CITGO!
