Why?

Over the last month there have been a number of cases of children being kidnapped and murdered. People I speak with are generally outraged about it, and I hear a number of unique and painful punishments proposed, some quite inventive, and others just crude. But the one question I hear constantly is a question no one seems to have an answer for; why this is happening? Well, I’ve given it some thought, and I’ll share my answer with you, but I don’t think you’ll like it much.

I consider children precious, an investment for the future who should be protected. I’m sure most of you reading this feel the same way. But we, as a society, seem not to believe it. Instead of being precious, children are seen as an impediment to a young girl going to college. Far from enriching her life, children will ruin it. Rather than making her rich with their love, children will make her poor. And we, as a society, allow her to remove this impediment from her path, by killing it.

Yes, this is an anti-abortion column. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that child abuse, and the murder of children, has risen since abortion was legalized many years ago. I think it’s the natural result of legalizing abortion. I think we were fools to believe we could allow a woman to kill the child in her womb for any reason, and not expect a lessening of respect for life in general. When you make the life in the womb disposable, is it really that big a step to making life outside the womb disposable as well?

So the sick and diseased minds with a penchant for killing children are validated and emboldened by what we, as a society, allow. He may even think he’s doing the parents a favor in removing this impediment to their happiness and fulfillment. He’s just doing a really late term abortion. We, as a society, are diseased. Society generally exists to protect life, not take it. But we have perverted that and, in doing so, have given the perverts license.
