The Answers are Simple, the Decisions are Hard

A recent news item told how a California public school had adopted an Islam curriculum in a well meaning effort, I suppose, to create peace among diverse religious elements in our nation. They teach these days that diversity is the new religion, and it is often put forth with an inflexible boldness that belies its so-called "tolerance" and disparages all other singular faiths such as Christianity or Judaism.

Such a wrong-headed effort gets broad support amongst our cultural elite, the educational, journalistic and even some religious circles. It all leads us toward a nirvana of one-religion-fits-all - a non-God non-religion man-made and bent on destruction of all we hold dear! Since 9/11 we’ve heard the mantra repeated often that Christianity has a lot of historic wrongs to answer for, such as the Crusades, the witch trials of Salem, and so on. We are told even to apologize for Jesus’ saying, "No man comes to the Father except by Me." By contrast we are mis-told that Islam means peace. The current jihad of Islam supposedly is nothing more than an innocent, peaceful response to those alleged historic and social offenses.

Folks, we need some clarity here. Down with diversity mish-mash! Truth is true by its very nature. Its singleness is its great strength. There are no "truth cafeterias" where we may pick and choose what we want to believe.

The answers that await for the saving of this great nation are simple - but we have some difficult decisions to make. Let’s review some common-sense facts:

  • America is far and away the greatest, boldest, most successful experiment in freedom in the history of the world. That explains why so many elsewhere hate us. (Some say we are hated because we support Israel, and that it secondarily true. Primarily, we support Israel because we have tasted freedom and love it, and Israel’s struggle for freedom and existence echoes our own.)
  • America was founded on Judao-Christian, in other words Biblical principles of both the Jewish and Christian tradition. Let’s get the facts straight. Our Founding Fathers were more than adventurers or mercenaries, they were deeply spiritual men who gave their lives for freedoms such as worship, enterprise, and education of our young. Those freedoms were for Christians, Jews, Muslims, atheists and tree-huggers.
  • We live in a good world, one created by a loving God and bountiful in its riches. Even the Arab deserts yield great riches in oil, and they are overshadowed by our land. America, between two oceans, has yielded the greatest financial and spiritual riches in history by far.
  • We live in an evil world, where the enemies of freedom and goodness abound, in fact they are on an awful tear right now with their terrorism, forced conversions, and bloody persecution of believers. In a word, murder; in another word, their bold lies.
  • Call it Islam, call it Muslim, call it mere religion; it almost makes us wish Communism would come back! With sincere love and apologies to our mild-mannered Muslim neighbors in America, most of you have been Americanized, which means you have probably set aside the more radical elements of Islam. You are probably not murderous, you may be well-intentioned and peaceful. Yet we must say in Christian love that we can read the written tenets of your freely chosen religion. Islam in black-and-white is not peace-loving but sworn to destroy us infidels.
  • Islam is the written, sworn enemy of Christians, Jews, America, Israel, and freedom. It is nigh impossible for us to judge a book by its cover, our Muslim neighbors may be friendly, but true Islam is not our friend. True Islam will lie to us and kill us - and the crater in downtown Manhattan, where the odor of mutilated flesh still emanates, is a testimony to that fact.
  • Some Muslims abroad may be our temporary military allies, but they have already proven to be less than 100% dependable. After our massive sweep across Afghanistan to tear down the terrorist movement there, we find our "allies" letting terrorist leaders go free after capture on a "promise" they will support the new Afghan government. And the people we liberated in Afghanistan are already lining up for more civil war.
  • There will always be enemies of freedom and faith and good. The price of freedom and faith and good is eternal vigilance. Our vigilance was never needed more than it is right now.
  • The whole sweep of Western civilization is built on Biblical principles, but we are growing weak-kneed and spineless in our understanding and resolve and are slowly losing all that. We are becoming soft-headed with diversity and political and religious "correctness." In recent days we are rapidly letting all that freedom and faith and good slip away.

I said all that to say this. The solutions are simple, the decisions that have to be made are difficult. I believe it is time for America to seek a renewed covenant with God. His name is God, our Declaration names Him. You all don’t have to believe in His Son Jesus as we do; but we will defend to the death our right to believe that and live it out in every way and even publish it. And we stand up boldly for the Godly roots of our nation.

I do not have a single doubt that if people of faith (faith in God, that is) were to boldly put forth God in our nation, He would show Himself to all of us and we would be swept with a broad spiritual renewal such as never before. And such a renewed America - once again firmly in touch with its founding principles, its God-given inalienable rights, its conviction that its cause is totally good and worth living and dying for - can defeat this great jihad of evil and axis of terror and by God’s grace save much of the world from destruction.

You see, we still are the last great hope of mankind. We alone among the nations of the world have been given the stewardship of freedom grounded in God.
